NFL Lockout and the Junior Class
Posted by acarso1 on 11/16/10 at 1:30 pm00
I have a question, suppose there is an NFL lockout next year. How will this affect the incoming rookies? Will this be more of an incentive for juniors like Patrick Peterson to stay and complete their senior year?
Thank you
Thank you

Actually every player that I've heard interviewed (that has any dealing or insight with the NFLPA) says a lock out is pretty much guaranteed. Beef with an 18 game regular season and more importantly medical coverage and/or revenue sharing
Not saying this will influence PP7 specifically

Someone asked this question to Mike Detillier on WWL last week, and his response was that, if anything, it's an incentive for juniors on the fence to leave because a rookie pay scale will be put in place that won't likely take effect until 2012. So, this year would be the last chance for these juniors to get into the NFL without a rookie cap.
I don't think it will really affect anyone like PP who will be a top 10 pick. When you're that good, you go pro. It can't help him to come back to school regardless of the NFL labor situation.

Like most other similar situation, it'll go down to the wire, get alot of talk, and then a deal will be made near the deadline

Guess you don't remember '82 & '87. A work stoppage is highly likely according to both sides.

The game and the people making the decisions today are way different. Its not even close to being the same situation.
