Losing 2 of 3 at UK wasn't terribly painful from a poll and RPI stand point.

NFCA poll

NCAA RPI

Poll:

1. Oregon
2. LSU
3. Florida
4. Michigan
5. Alabama

RPI:

1. Florida
2. LSU
3. Auburn
4. Michigan
5. Florida St.

The poll was close….Oregon got 18 1st place votes, LSU got 12. Still a lot of respect among the voters for LSU even though they lost 2 of 3. Time to get the train rolling again at home this week with ULM tonight and Ole Miss this weekend.

Relatively speaking the UK softball team is better than their baseball team. Also, LSU softball has played a much tougher schedule than the baseball team.

Cold weather and on the road. LSU has had a brutal schedule so far. RPI reflects that. Good job by the girls salvaging that third game.

If you had told me a while back that LSU would go 3-3 vs. Florida and Kentucky on the road, I would have gladly taken it. To split against the defending champ and another team that made it to OKC last year is a good accomplishment. Getting that third game and avoiding the sweep was huge.

It's not that surprising they didn't slip much in the polls, all things considered on the weekend (road and cold). This weekend should see things back to normal for the girls.

I expect the bats to warm back up this weekend vs. Ole Miss. Ole Miss has won 5 in a row, but they are over Miss. St. and Arkansas, who both suck. Ole Miss has a high team ERA and I think our bats will respond.

In the ESPN poll, Oregon, LSU, & Florida were separated by only 5 points.

We should win the next 5 games. I'll be disappointed if we don't sweep Ole Miss this weekend. ULM run ruled them a couple of weeks ago in Oxford.

I didn't think going 2-2 last week against two tournament teams was going to change much

Ole Miss is better than their teams in years past, but with a home series, I expect a sweep.

Ole Miss has former McNeese Coach.
