New Offense "simple and easy to learn" Shouldn't be worried.

This is something I've always thought about college offenses: simple works. College kids don't have time to learn entire play books and practice them to perfection. They're here 3-4 years and in school at the same time.

If you look around the country, you'll see many "simple" offenses garner lots of success. Heck, Auburn ran the same Triple option play all the way to the national championship a few years ago.
I'm happy we're installing a "simple" offense that we can perfect and allow our athletes to really shine as players.

What are your thoughts on the new offensive philosophy?

I love it. Les and Cam's offense looked simple but it was ridiculously hard for the players to learn.

Widespread misconception of Les's offense. It was complex, but not hard to understand. It was hard to execute only bc Les ran the same, predictable plays, and the players were too tired. When Les and Cam were fired, the same playbook was used, just used better.

Mazzone (UCLA and now Aggie oc) talked about how they brought maybe 30 or 40 plays to game day but most of them had options on them

Much like Hugh Freeze offense. their bowl game in like 12 or 13 they ran the exact same play 3 plays in a row but all worked different from what the defense gave them (essentially an RPO)

Since Canada runs a multiple Pro Style offense that adapts to his talent, I can't wait.

we can go tempo and we can slow it down
. lots of options and misdirection plus he loves his option plays

LSU should be a challenge next year regardless of O. I can't wait. thinking we average 31 ppg in SEC play.

Regardless of O? O put this thing together. And the fast paced practice was O from be beginning. Looks like Canada has bought in to the pace or he fits right in because that's how he does it. Either way they seem to have things humming. I hope so.. talk is cheap. We will see this fall. I'm feeling good about the offense more than I have in a long time

How hard was it for the team to learn the two plays that LSU ran over and over again?

It may be simple but it will look extremely difficult to defense's and that's the point. I can't wait to finally see defense's not have a clue as to what they are about to get. Should see lots of big gains next year. With our RBs, OL, TEs, FBs, WRs all being extremely athletics it will be tough for opposing defense's to stop. Can't wait really.

With our defense practicing against all this eye candy it should also make them very diciplined, even more so with Aranda which will bold well for our defense. They need to see lots of fakes to start reacting efficiently. I'm really pumped about this season.

With Key coming back, having White back there along with our 3 freshman Chassion, Phillips, and Taylor, by the end of the year this defense will be nasty. It should be a solid year and LSU will be a very tough out in any game this year.

Yea, football today caters so much to offense. We can finally dictate the terms!

How many points did O and Ensminger put up against Alabama and Florida?

I love that since the offense is so simple it gives time to focus on execution and player development. This was one of the biggest problems with the old offense. It caused too many penalties and way too many 3 and outs. IMO this will improve offensive production just as much as Canada's multiple formations.

The coaches didn't fumble and run the wrong way on multiple red zone appearances.

I'm thinking this poster was using "O" for "offense" rather than "Orgeron".
