Can LSU just go ahead and lock him in a lifetime $2 mil/year contract?

Seeing those "yards allowed" numbers at his years at Wisconsin are very nice. He improved their defensive unit every year he was there. The thought of him leaving one day keeps me up at night.

Throughout his ascension, Aranda took offseason and even in-semester trips to visit with defensive staffs around the country. His family home is littered with notebooks full of sketches, diagrams and notes from various stops at Arizona, Washington and even a 1999 trip to LSU.

Tepper spreading that knowledge.

I hate reading that he was Tom Herman's roommate. I had hoped that would help us land Herman; now I hope it doesn't help Texas land Aranda. Lord knows they could throw tons of money his way...

pretty sure he has a huge buyout if he leaves LSU for a school within like 500 miles of LSU or some radius that includes Austin

LSU pays assistants more than UT as well, if Aranda wanted to go there he would have left last offseason.

Does anyone else have a video playing in the background on that page? This is incredibly annoying.

In a way, it's good that DA can just focus on being a DC. I say let Ed handle the perimeter BS while Dave does what he does best.

Heck, the current formula of Coordinators coaching and CEO being the CEO just might work. Isn't Dave the Assistant HC anyway. I guess that he is getting exposed to it well enough for now anyway.

LSU allowed the fewest touchdowns among FBS programs in its inaugural season under Aranda. His unit shut out mighty Alabama for three quarters in Tiger Stadium and utterly dominated Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson and Louisville in the Citrus Bowl.

“It’s kind of like you get a double major with football,” defensive end Christian LaCouture says. “Guys in the room make sure we pick his brain because, like you saw last year, what he brought to the table for our defense was crazy. You can’t pay him enough to do it because the way he explains the scheme to you just fires everybody up.”

This is what makes me optimistic despite my reservations about CEO. We only gave up 16 points per game last year, and we lost 4. Think about that. If Canada can do even half of what he did at Pittsburgh, we will be in for a special season.
