LSU beating Clemson could pay huge dividends on the recruiting trail w 2013 signing class. There are several big name players that are at least leaning toward the bengal Tigers at the moment. A dominating performance in ATL could be springboard to the top recruiting class in 2013. I'm sure Miles and staff will have the troups ready to play extremely well and showcase their talent on both sides of football. Bowl games are important (IMO). Geaux Tigers!

Love all the sarcastic responses especially given that more than half of this board said they hate this bowl game and don't even care if LSU wins it. I guess this isn't the half of the the board that thought that way.

Maybe people that aren't LSU fans. Scratch that, even they care since this is like the 3 or 4th best matchup of the whole bowl season.

LSU is expected to win. A loss will get more attention than a win.

These types of bowl games mean more to the fans than anything else. I doubt winning or losing this game will make much of a difference in recruiting. I never heard of a big name recruit saying "Well, I was leaning towards (Team A) prior to the bowl season because of the chance to play early and the great coaching staff. But after watching (Team B) really dominate the Gator Bowl, I think I'm going to sign with (Team B) instead."

If we win this game we will finish in the top 10 and possibly even the top 5 and will remain one of college football's perennial elite teams. If we lose we will slip out of the top ten and finish the season 12 or 13 and there will be a completely different feeling about the whole season. So yes, this bowl games makes a difference.

meh I don't really buy that. LSU football stands on it's own, win or lose

but bowl game value is in the extra practices the younger tigers get leading up to the bowl game, much more important than what the game does for recruiting

Theyre also big for the players wanting to raise their draft stock. We'll be ready to whoop some arse.

Why would you expcect a dominating performance? I haven't seen one all year. Why would the bowl be any different?
