Need advice on tickets

Hello fellow ranters! I live in St Augustine, FL and my son is a junior this year in high school. He wants to visit LSU as a possible college of choice.
We want to do the tour at the school on either the weekend LSU plays Southern Miss or Ole Miss. It will be me, my wife, and son coming in.
Which game would be easier and cheaper to get tickets to and can I take a chance on buying them at the stadium? TIA to everyone.

As of last week, you could still buy tickets for the Southern Miss game through LSU.

USM will be easier by far and yes there will be tickets available at the stadium.

I understand your question was cheaper and easier, the answer to that would be Southern Miss. BUT, if you and your son want to go to one of the best environments in college football and all of sport, take him to the Ole Miss game. The game in 2014 was outstanding and it'll be something your son never forgets. You also might want to get ready for him to commit to LSU if y'all go to that one.
ETA: You won't be able to put a price on that family memory.

Thanks! Looking at internet now and 3 tix for $30/ea. for section 636 row cc. Guess it's better than nothing.

You will be able to get better seats than that for Southern Miss game. Those seats in Section 636, Row CC would be miserable. Watch on Ticket Exchange starting two weeks before the game that you want to attend and I bet you get face value tickets in a much better location (hopefully, lower bowl) for So. Miss game. Ole Miss will be a little harder, but definitely doable as well.

Is 3 tickets doable together?

Go to the Ole Miss game if you want the true experience.
Also, those seats are awful...

I second this.

Yes it is. Even if you had to buy 4 at face value, it would be better than sitting in the Upper Decks. I sell all of my leftover tickets on Ticket Exchange if I can't make it to a particular game and it is a very easy process.

Ok, I will book the trip for Ole Miss and work on tickets the closer we get. My email is tigerz3030@yahoo.com if anyone wants to email me and keep me in mind. Thanks again to all responders.

3 together might be hard to get on game day for OM, SM should be easier...BUT, the OM game will be so much better, no comparison in the total game day experience, from the tailgaters to the actual game will be LSU football at its finest...

More than likely people will be giving tickets away for free right before the southern Miss game outside of the stadium.

USM fans will travel. Their team was good last year and still has a heartbeat.

For a stadium that size, I can't imagine there wouldn't be tickets readily available cheap for a non-major game. Of course 3 can be tricky, but hell, if they're cheap just buy 4 and give one away.
