yeah that shite is so ridiculous. If they do not like ULL go back to USL. they really need to get over it. Yes they are university of louisiana AT LAFFY. they are not the only UL...there is monroe also. I am a supporter of ULL, LSU and nicholls softball as i have ties to all, personal and professional. people just need to get over themselves with all the petty bullshite.

Again, these numbers are put up against high school pitching.

You sir are a good man. I wish all of the ULL brethren took this attitude and just focused on what was happening on the field. I think all the "petty bullshite" about the name takes attention away from the actual athletes. The people who are so into "call us Louisiana" have made the school a laughing-stock all around the nation and they don't even realize it.

ULL loss six games in their whole regular season. That would add up to a top 4 national ranking and top eight national seeding if not for the fact that their conference is shite. That's why they didn't even get a top 16 seeding.

ULL has an outstanding softball program, but their conference sucks.

The committee hammered home this point when they didn't even give Minnesota a top 16 seed: If you play in a crappy conference (Big-10 included) and you play a crappy non-conference schedule, we don't care what your record is, you ain't hosting.

Main recipients: Minnesota, ULL, and James Madison.

Minnesota had a #12 RPI and a 54-3 record with some good wins against non-conference competition (LSU included). The NCAA dropped the ball on this one.

No doubt the NCAA messed up on Minnesota. Usually the Cajuns play a pretty good OOC schedule, but from top to bottom it wasn't as strong this year as in the past. I know they played Bama 3 times and A&M once, and to their credit went 3-1, but there were a lot of sub-100 RPI wins.

I know the Cajuns lost a lot from last year's team...do you think Lotief might have softened the schedule a little this year to break in the newer players, then was pleasantly surprised at how good their record was?

You're right. We're terrible. Our past five years of super regional berths and a WCWS berth all happened because we played against high school pitching against the likes of Arizona, LSU, and Texas A&M.

I would say some of this is true. Also, our conference wasn't as strong as it usually is which didn't help as well. South Alabama, who's usually a top 25 team, had a down year to which our conference took a big hit in power rankings.

Lotief usually mixes up the non-conference schedule with some good SEC/PAC 12/Big 12 series along with a few P5 schools. The competition just wasn't as strong this year as it usually is. Hence, our 45-6 record.

She better be more nervous about beating SWLAJC@L in that noon game on Saturday. (Assuming they beat Fairfield and SWLAJC tales care of McNeese on Friday)

Thanks NCAA. No night games yet once again.

I don't think I would bash on ull for not being in the sec. they were 3-1 against sec and scored 29 runs against their pitching in the 3 wins. Why can't we just say both teams are good, and both better watch out for mcneese.

Complete disrespect towards ULL for not giving them a regional. They are higher ranked than LSU and were sent to the same region as LSU? That these two are in the same regions is actually pretty much a slap in the face to Louisiana SOftball. To meet in the super regional is okay but this is just absurd. ULL has had more success year in year out than LSU or you simply don't follow softball to know better.

Lots of chumps that know nothing about softball so ignore the comments. ULL plays in a weak conference but play and beat top big conference teams year in year out period.
