West coast vs. east coast is good for 10 wins... yeah that makes sense

18 top 50 RPI wins vs 8. That's tough to overcome.

Not when the selectors want more than one Super Regional on the west coast, which is what we will likely see.

Bottom line...we wouldn't even be having this conversation if Kentucky had not lost 2 of its last 3 series this regular season. Losing the series to Georgia is what did them in. Had they won that and just lost the series to Florida, yea, they have a shot at a national seed. Outside of winning the SEC Tourney and Stanford losing a series next weekend, I just don't see it happening.

Also, if any league is going to get 3 national seeds, it is likely going to be the ACC, not the SEC this year.

Georgia deserves more credit than that. They played much better down the stretch.

Dont think you should penalize kentucky for losing a series at florida. Im just arguing who is more deserving, wouldnt surprise me if they gave it to stanford to spread the wealth. But on paper, kentucky deserves it. The amount of other teams from the conference with national seeds, shouldnt even be discussed by the committee

Also, i disagree that kentucky will have see what stanford does. If kentucky gets to the sec tourney final, they will have a national seed, their rpi would be top 5

Has a nice symmetry to it. Teams with .667 winning percentages in conference & Division/overall winners:

SEC
Florida
LSU

ACC
Louisville
North Carolina

Big-12 (-2)
Texas Tech
TCU

Pac-12
Oregon State
Stanford

East, Southeast, Mid-(South)west and West Regionals.

Something also to consider would be a non P5 team cracking the national seed...the only chance of that one is Southern Miss.

Southern Miss
RPI: 10
Overall Record: 44-12
League Record: 25-5
vs. Top 50: 8-4
vs. Top 100: 22-10
Road Record: 20-6

This would be the only non P5 team I could see being considered to replace a team out west.
