Sanchez may be so ignorant he never made the kids adjust.

“We knew it was going to be this kind of game,” said Mainieri. “We knew how he’d pitch us, and he did a lot of that. We knew he’s try to pitch up in the zone, and we didn’t lay off enough of them and hit too many easy fly ball outs."

Paul Mainieri was a little bit surprised by how his team responded to the strategy by UCLA and Plutko. “We worked all week on it,” said Mainieri. “We set pitching machines, throwing fastballs chest high, trying to lay off of it, get on top of it. We worked real hard on it. I though we had a pretty good play ready and we just couldn’t execute it.”

ding ding ding

People don't like to hear this, but sometimes it's just a matter of execution. Not the players fault, not the coaches fault. Someone has to win and someone has to lose.

Both the players and coaches are trying their hardest and care about it much more than us fans.

When a team has hit 47 HRs, 127 doubles & 16 triples it is hard not to revert back to what got them there. 8-day lay off + excitement of CWS likely didn't help. I read every team that shared that dugout lost their first game this weekend. UNC is very similar to LSU, it will be interesting.

Even if we lose tomorrow I am so very happy with the effort given by this team throughout the year and am proud of their accomplishments.
There it is. They're alreading spewing out the condolenses and BS for having a great year before the second CWS loss goes down.

When you have a fanbase that gets the notoriety that LSU's does, there's bound to be some idiots that cross the line.

The announcers made several references to the fact that the LSU fans take over Omaha, hell, they even said this for years that we don't make the tournament.

LSU fans' presence was evident all the way up to the last swing. Unfortunately, you have to take the good with the bad. I said several things last night in the comfort of my own home, that I wouldn't have wanted anyone to hear.

There's a couple I've repeated today.

I wish we had a baseball board where people were slightly intimated to post every thought. Instead it's the regular LSU fan board.

I've watch 55+ games and even rewatch games I missed. I post right along side someone who just watched their first game.

It's baseball. The best Yankee teams ever still lost frequently.

Yeah I don't want LSU players reading the Rant.

I would rather them read L Ron Hubbard than this negative crap.

The stuff you read here would make a porno feel like home.

Well said! We get disappointed for losses but at the end of the day it is a game and these are kids. Incredible athletes yes, but still kids.

PM took a big gamble that failed and cost LSU the game.

I love how some fans always have to find someone to blame.

It's a team game and the team took the L.

We didn't hit, we didn't field, and we didn't win.

Blaming one person is silly, but each to our own.
