I was amazed at the darts Brennan was throwing early. What disappointed me was the receivers who can't seem to adjust to the ball coming in so flat and fast. I may be wrong but I remember a lot of the backup receivers doing a lot better with Etling when he went up to first string. Wasn't that when Chark rose too?

I haven't rewatched the game, but I wonder who Brennan's favorite receiver will be and if we can get the receivers who catch him regularly in when he comes in. I could also be 100% off since this is 2 days after watching but I was waiting for someone else who had a bit more knowledge to post about his passes.

**edited to correct my idiocy**

Brennan will be great, especially with the early reps we've been getting him this year. We're going to need him in a big way next year so kudos to the coaching staff getting him some reps and not worrying about a redshirt. If he is as good as we are all hoping he will never see a potential fifth year.

One significantly underrated trait of Etling's is the ball that he throws. It is very catchable and there is plenty of opportunity for the receivers to make a play on the ball. This offense is predicated on creating and recognizing mismatches. We aren't just chucking it up in the air for no reason. Canada creates mismatches with personnel and Etling recognizes them.

Our WRs are better than pretty much every defensive back unit that we will face this year (at least 75% of them) and they know where and when the ball is coming. If we have our guys going up and making plays on the ball, I like our chances.

At this point in time, there is no comparison. Etling is the starter. Let's hop we do not need Myles this year and he continues to get real snaps to develop in preparation for next year.

Mett used to throw darts. We also had probably the two best WR's LSU will ever see on the field at the same time. But I'm ok with darts as long as the WR's will catch them.

I agree

Its so hard not to get excited about the next few years with Myles.

LSU hasn't had a gifted passer like him in quite some time. He throws the ball really well and has a quick release.

He still looked like a freshman in the sense that everything he was doing was in fast forward. He didn't seem relaxed. He seemed like it was full speed, all the time. I'm sure the game will slow down as he gets more experience but it was driving me crazy watching him rush everything when he didn't really have to.
