My uneducated guess on TV times for the remaining SEC home games
Posted by VermilionTiger on 10/8/15 at 6:30 pm00
Purely for discussion sake, and I know a lot can change. This is just for those who are curious about what the future TV slots may look like.
Unfortunately, LSU/Arkansas play the week of the noon / afternoon double header weekend.
The games that weekend are: 2 need to be picked up by CBS
Georgia @ Auburn
Alabama @ Miss State
Arkansas @ LSU
Florida @ South Carolina
Kentucky @ Vanderbilt
The games that weekend are: 1 needs to be picked up by CBS
Alabama @ Auburn
Texas A&M @ LSU
Florida State @ Florida (Can be played on CBS, due to UF at home)
Ole Miss @ Miss State
Vanderbilt @ Tennessee
Clemson @ South Carolina (can be played on CBS, due to USCe at home)
Louisville @ Kentucky (Can be played on CBS, due to UK at home)
How I see it:
5 really terrible match-ups during the LSU/Arky week, and 2 of them have to be picked up by CBS. Fortunately, we have Leonard Fournette. Unfortunately, he draws a lot of eyeballs. The odds of one of those slots not having LSU is slim, in my opinion.
Regarding Thanksgiving weekend..this is what I think. The Iron Bowl has been played in this time slot for the past 4 years , including 2 top 15 match-ups the past 2 years, and a top 25 match-up in 2011. In 2012, there was a terrible SEC slate, so it was a no brainer for them to pick that game up. If LSU and A&m each have less than 3 losses, this is probably a lock to be on CBS @ 2:30.

There's 2 CBS rules you need to take into account.
No team can be on more than 5 times.
No team can be on more than 3 weeks in a row.
Alabama will be CBS and so will ole miss. If they take our Arkansas game, we can't be in against a&m. Therefore one will be 230 and one will not. The guess is that Ark will not.

The double header changed? It was Nov 7 when they came out before the season.

There are two CBS double headers each year....one is a noon eastern & 3:30 eastern...the other one is a 3:30 eastern & an 8:00pm eastern prime time game. They have picked the weekend of the LSU/Bama game for their prime time doubleheader the past 4 years.
