We had a chance but LSU refused to pay her the money she wanted. Believe me she was LSU women's basketball coach but we screwed the pooch

She could bring her assistant with her, the old La. Tech coach Leon Barmore. He would have won big time as men's coach, this year. He's 10 times better than JJ. I know, I played 2 years for him in the 68/69/70 era. Fundamentals, defense, blocking out are required,or you don't play. Clog the middle, block out the paint were required. He's never made much money, we should get them both.

She's a great coach, but I can't help but think about her going apeshit after Pokey embarrassed her arse when Baylor came to the PMAC one year.

She got revenge when Baylor beat LSU for the NC. LSU def should have won that game with both Augustus and Fowles there. No way in hell Baylor should have won.

A good hire can change things back.
In 2008, LSU went 14-0 in conference and went to their last Final Four. USC went 10-18 (2-12 SEC) in the first year of their current coach.
The programs have essentially swapped places. USC is almost certainly going back to the Final Four, and LSU is just sitting home.

Actually the game in the PMAC was the following season after Baylor won, so it was our slight bit of revenge (I think we beat them by 30-something).
But I agree, that loss to Baylor in the Final Four is one of those games I'm still bitter about. Of that whole run, that was the year we should've won it all.
