I'll take average QB play with anything above that just being a bonus. Not concerned about defense at all..to much talent. I agree with earlier post that LF will be depended on and pushed for the heisman. Offense will need to be clutch and get TDs in the redzone. Must be able to move the ball late in games and put teams away.

Health is a key piece to how this season turns out for this team and the West in general.

I think its going to be lsu and auburn at the top of the west. My prediction 12-1 win SEC and make playoffs.

The big thing is the OL. If it comes together the rest of the pieces are there. The OL candidates are there, but everyone is playing a new position except Posic and that is only because he has played virtually every position. Bit though talented, the OL must have chemistry and execution. The QB and WR will be good, but if the OL does notr have chemistry the offense will be mediocre.

This. We have some question marks, but everybody else in the SECW has more question marks than we do.

There is no reason, especially after the spring game, to think that QB will be anything but god-awful...So sad.

I thought the TD throw from BH to Chi was about as well placed of a ball as a QB could throw! Just one throw, yes, but very promising!

Now, the other big plays WERE badly busted coverages I will admit, but I saw improved play, and that will continue throughout the spring/summer.

We'll find out this fall. If AJ is QB, look for a hugely disappointing season.

I think this is the thing that infuriates me and most LSU fans. We don't even need a Qb to be a top 20 QB in the NCAA. We just need someone average and the other talent will take care of the rest.

Except when we had Mett and three Nfl skill players, right? It's not just a QB, it's always one missing piece. The QBs will be improved, as will the receivers. Will it be enough?

There's no doubt we have talent at every position group on the field, but I just can't see us getting the pieces in place to play well enough to do it this year. I really want it to happen, but they have to prove it on the field vs 1st team SEC talent consistently.

We need more sacks and defense getting turnovers for us to make noise this yr.

The entire success of this season rests almost entirely on how well Anthony Jennings plays QB.

THIS!!!!

The reason why I have very little optimism heading ino this season.

I think if AJ plays the absolute best he could possibly play all year, we max out at 10-2.

If he show marginal improvement, we still are 8-4 to 9-3.

I also agree that we will see very little BH barring injury. You can speculate on the reasons, but none of them are good, especially if it's because he really isn't ready by now.

Persnaolly, I'd like to see BH as the starter, because I think at his worst, he is about equal to AJ, but his ceiling is so much higher.

AJ may show marginal improvement, but that's it. He won't make a big leap like Mett did in his second year starting. Mett had an NFL arm and the difference was that Mett went from Stud to Cam between years 1 and 2 and Cam coached him up.

AJ has already been under Cam for 2 years now and has had an entire year of starting. He may improve, but it will only be marginal.

So QB is again the big issue this year.

I for one honestly beleive that the talent is there at the other positions to where we do not need the QB to be All-American. I can see this team winning a bunch of 17-10 type games.

You are forgeting too that many on this board feel that Fournette will win the Heisman, Nobel Peace Prize, and NFL Man of the Year all this fall. I think LSU will make it a point to feature him, mount a strong Heisman campaign, and he has the talent to carry this team a long way.

If AJ starts, it'll be more of the same. If Harris starts, he's playing his first full season and will make some mistakes.

I'm thinking ...

LSU - 49 McNeese State - 10 Win
LSU - 31 @ Mississippi State - 28 Win
LSU - 24 Auburn - 31 Loss
LSU - 31@ Syracuse - 14 Win
LSU - 45 Eastern Michigan - 6 Win
LSU - 24 @ South Carolina - 27 Loss
LSU - 34 Florida - 21 Win
LSU - 41 Western Kentucky - 14 Win
LSU - 17 @ Alabama - 21 Loss
LSU - 21 Arkansas - 14 Win
LSU - 34 @ Ole Miss - 31 Win
LSU - 28 Texas A&M - 21 Win

9-3
