I'm sorry I laughed and called you bad names...

I hope you can forgive me.

Now, go win us a championship young man!

What a travesty this was! He was never inlegible, but he had to miss the Missouri series, and senior day! I can only imagine what his poor parents went through. What a nightmare of a Mother's Day for his mom. I would hope CPM makes it right for him and his family before the season is over.

You make it sound like their dog died and the entire family got cancer. It will be fine. Jared and his family will survive all of this just swell.

Oh you're right about that!! They will survive beautifully, but it still doesn't make ANY of this situation ok! It should be highly disconcerting that this issue was handled so poorly! Kicked off the team for academic ineligibility BEFORE final grades were even due??? That's just ONE of the glaringly inappropriate issues surrounding this incident. Many more issues are still surfacing!

Please fill us in on the details of this travesty of justice

I suspect that LSU's compliance dept erred on the side of caution. What's worse? LSU removes a potentially ineligible from their team for a few games while the issue gets sorted out. The player is ruled eligible and allowed to return with no consequences to the team, program or season. OR, LSU plays a potentially ineligible player who is later confirmed to be ineligible. LSU is then forced to retroactively forfeit the games he participated in and the program becomes subject to NCAA violations

Could the issue have been resolved sooner? Maybe. But I don't blame CPM one bit for erring on the side of caution.

Maybe I misunderstood the explanation in the other thread but this didn't have anything to do with his grade being final/not final, or changing, did it? The grade is the same as it was last week, it's just that it was determined to be acceptable under a rule that is only applied in rare cases?

In the old days you would not have known this happened. Today due to Fritter and all those other so called means of information are usually full of half truths and BS. Then people go off on all of this BS with out having the full information. Glitter is the worse thing anybody ever invented behind Coloring Book and all those other BS Social Media. I have never Tweated and will never Tweat!!

Actually it was reported by LSU and picked up by local news and newspapers. It isn't a case of someone starting a rumor on social media and everyone running with it. He missed 4 games, I don't really think you can blame twitter for people noticing that.

The grade was changed AND he would have been eligible regardless.

So if you know (or strongly suspect at the time) that he will be ineligible for the stretch run, why waste time with him in the lineup when you could be breaking in his replacement? I'm pretty sure every coach in CPM's situation would have sat him last weekend.

Every coach would have sat him. I dont think he needed to be kicked off the team until the process was complete.

I was very critical of his situation. I still am. He got thru a loophole and J's active again.

I am happy he is on the squad, but I will always know how stupid it was for him to let himself be in that situation. His appeal found a way he was eligible, but the grade he made in that class stands and there's no excuse for the risk he put himself in.

No way he knew about the special circumstances that allowed him to remain eligible. Everyone, including CPM thought he was out.

I'm no hater, but I was critical. But, I'm glad he's on the team. Yes a seasoned veteran which helps in championship baseball.

Jeez, what are you ranting about? Just shut up while everyone thinks you're only mildly stupid.
