LSU's returning running-back is a major threat on offense

Just like he was last year? When we had 4 losses?

LSU's offense will be far more unpredictable

We've heard this for the past 7 years. Excuse me for not biting until I see it on the field.

and the defense, as a group, will be as solid as any in recent memory.

Like ... say last year? When we had 4 losses?

but they certainly don't have the reason

of course we do. We've seen this story play out for the better part of a decade now and are just able to temper our expectations until we actually see it.

Have your whiskey ready, because you are gonna need it! When you hire a cheap head coach that is a proven failure, you will get cheap results. Thanks Alleva! The great coordinators arent going to be here forever.

re: My excitement's building up big-time for LSU's 2017 football season
I just have that feeling that we're headed back to the 90's after the events of the past season and offseason. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I'm lowering my expectations accordingly.

Maybe this will have the unexpected benefit of making LSU football a lot of fun again instead of feeling like there's a ton of pressure for them to win every game.

The fact that you don't see the reason for excitement with Canada and aranda as our coordinators, tells me just how truly dumb you are

re: My excitement's building up big-time for LSU's 2017 football season
Events of last season and off season? Please do explain.

Lsu under O and without a competent offensive coordinator set all kinds of offensive records. Lsu destroyed all teams they played under O...except bama and Florida. Despite the sentiment expressed by the anti O group on here, the Lsu loss to Florida was not coaching and not etling. Lsu at one point late in the game held a 3-1 total yard advantage. The fact is guice and Jackson each had two critical mistakes that directly led to a point reversal of 24 points, and a double digit win.

What on earth are you talking about the offseason? Vegas has Lsu pegged as the #7 team in the country. We got Canada and kept aranda. Jesus, some of you are unreal.

So you are one of those already with your opinion and excuses made. If and when Lsu does well, all the credit goes to the coordinators...any failures or hiccups will be all O.

Think about that for a bit. You come across as shallow, small thinking, a troll, and not terribly intelligent

Dude go root for someone else and bring your bs negativity with you. Lsu has made major changes, and many are excited. You act like nothing has changed. Troll away.

Not at all. It just gets old with the bs on the site. I don't know what kind of season we will have. No one does. I'm optimistic. I will give O and the great coordinators a chance. I couldn't care less about O at Ole Miss, and if anything, that period of time will serve us well with O. People do improve, work hard, and overcome, to make dreams come true. I'll bash when and if bashing is appropriate, not like some of you kids without wisdom.

I've never bashed O. I've simply taken an objective look at his track record and concluded that LSU could and should do better than hiring a guy who had the worst tenure at Ole Miss in its school's history. I don't blame O for taking the job. I blame Alleva for hiring him.

Retaining Aranda is awesome. I'm cautiously optimistic about Canada. I think we'll be good or possibly great these next couple seasons but don't have a ton of faith in this model for a program going forward. Hell, maybe he really has learned a lot from his past failure and is ready to take LSU back to the top. Or maybe he hasn't. Sorry if being objective about the situation is too negative for you.

Ahh, so you don't believe people improve through experience and hard work. You also like to worry about "farther" down the line...I now understand you.

I have an excitement to see a new offense, but I don't have an excitement for another season of losing to Bama and probably Florida and playing some mediocre bowl game.

When the hell did I say that?

I don't think "worry" is the right word. It's just something to consider in that we'll have to consistently have 2 awesome coordinators to be a top tier program down the line. What's wrong with thinking about and discussing the long term?

If you can't see the changes and positive momentum happening around this program, and are already expecting losses...maybe you should find a new hobby. I'm very excited with the changes made with this program.

re: My excitement's building up big-time for LSU's 2017 football season
So wait, it's ok to tell another poster that none of us know how the season will end up, but then you tell me that you've see all these great changes and positive momentum happening around the program? Kedwards1 is a funny way to spell hypocrite.

I'm hoping for the best, but I have severe questions about Coach O and his viability as a long-term head coach. Personally, I'm hoping he succeeds or that he's a place holder for Aranda, but the backfire potential is just gigantic.

Seriously? I can see there is no reasoning with an individual like you. Successful people are driven by past failures, and experiences learned from those failures. Sounds like you can't comprehend that concept. Sorry.

LSU message board fans just have to be miserable. They cry about last year's games against Bama and Florida. You point out that changes have been made to the coaching staff since those games. Oops, can't really cry about that, huh? Well not until the next thread anyway.

What do they do instead? Turn their pessimistic, catastrophe syndrome selves towards the future and CRY about that. Imagine that, make shite up that probably won't EVEN happen and commence to MELT. Predict doom-n-gloom about made up shit?

I find it very amusing that some LSU Msg Bd fans HAVE to miserable. Very entertaining actually. More power to the sad-sacks.
