I watched each play and even slow motioned a lot of them. I know it was crazy. Anyway here are a few things I noticed I was hoping to get everyone else's opinion on

1. Defense played well overall. The interior line does not get the kind of push you would hope. It worries me what Bama and ARK will be a le to do in the run game. The secondary looked pretty good but simply miss judged a few passes and were just out of position in zone on a few with.a better offensive play call. Our defensive ends get pressure a lot but need more moves than just an outside speed rush.
2. Pocic got beat a lot. May have just been one bad game but he got beat. Overall the blocking was actually good. Leonard missed holes 3-4 times running into contact as opposed to avoiding it. If there was one flaw he has that's it.
3. Etling did not read the field as well as previous games. He missed receivers on several occasions and had nervous feet a lot. Malachi has been bad but was actually our best route runner this game. In regard to the routes receivers run they are just plain awful. Slow, not sharp, easy to defend, some of them I couldn't even tell we're routes. This needs major improvement.

Most things can be fixed I believe and I'm excited we'll have a new staff to do so.

the WR's have taken a big step backwards IMO.
they run lazy routes and get pushed around.

They jog everywhere. Dural was jogging to the line over and over again.

The Special Teams were jogging on that Missi. St. onside kick that they lost. Everyone has been listless, not getting set, and has had no intensity/fire.

I don't get it.

Bama and Ark are not their usual power run selves this year. Ark has had trouble running the ball and Bama is still powerful but more spread. They don't have a Richardson or Henry in the backfield. Wisconsin is the best power run team we will see this year.

Etling and Dupree need to get on the same page ASAP. That last drive he was open at least 3 times for sure TD's.

That will be one thing to watch this week. Should see those WR's firing off the ball and flying around.

if dural and dupre aren't hustling and putting in max effort, I have to wonder why they are starting...

just because of seniority? If there are hungry WR's on the bench, why aren't they playing? I don't get it at all.

I'm curious how you can effectively see all of this from a tape of the broadcast.

Besides Chark, we really don't anyone else with game experience. Remember the transfers? At some point, yeah, they need to get their feet wet, but Dupree and Dural HAVE to get their head out of their asses and start doing what they can do. We were talking before the season about how great our wr corps was, and now we want to see the new guys. Crazy.

Uh with my eyes. You can see a receiver open on the screen with Etling looking elsewhere and throwing into coverage. Go back and watch it again. We miss a lot in the heat of the moment.

Etling missed Dupre several times when he was wide open. Commentator was saying that a lot at the end of the game and showed replays of how open he was. I think Etling doesn't have much confidence in Dupre after his drops in earlier games.

Secondary gave up some big plays, so I wouldn't say they played well.

Secondary was disappointing Saturday. Jackson and Tolliver look lost a lot of the time.

You can't see the full field from the TV broadcast. Guys that look open in the middle in a close up view often have a safety nearby trying to bait the throw.

I know it's cliche to say this, but you really need to see the wide angle view to make these kinds of assessments.

However, Etling not seeing a guy consistently get open is on his coach in the booth. He needs to recognize this, relay that information to the offense and come back to the play again to exploit it. One of the many signs of ineptitude from last week's coaching staff.

Exactly. Not to mention, you don't know what the play calls were, so you don't know what was supposed to happen.

Only one. On one Etling was on his back before dupre was open and on the other the ball was already out of Etlings hand before Dupre was open. Not to metion that the safety was baiting the whole time. You couldnt see that from the replay.

Our new head coach will get the defensive line fixed.

Watch yesterdays practice video. CEO yelling at them to run everywhere they go on the practice field.

I think les established a culture of nonchalant practices. CEO appears to be changing that. I think we will see more physicality moving forward.
