I'm getting ready to to an SEC Stadium tour this summer and was hoping to get the 411 on some of the places around Baton Rouge that I should check out. Nightlife, LSU sports stuff (obviously Tiger Stadium iteself). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

While not on campus T J Ribs has lots of LSU memorabilia. You will enjoy the atmosphere and a good meal.

I suggest going to 3rd St. downtown if you want something off-campus. It's only a couple of miles away and it's the only area in town where you can barhop without paying cover everywhere.

If you're a beer snob or craft beer enthusiast try The Cove/Corporate Brew and Draft, The Bulldog, or Chimes. The Pelican House has a great selection as well.

eta: And somehow I forgot to mention Tin Roof Brewery. Located in between campus and downtown and they have a pretty nice taproom.

Exactly. Some of the suggestions are dumb. Can't tell which ones until he tells us more.

On campus:
Mike's habitat
LSU creamery for an ice cream (not open game day)
Indian Mounds
LSU Natural Science Museum
Walk around and enjoy the tailgating

Near campus:
Chimes (get oysters, boudin balls, and sauteed crab claws)
Tigerland at least once

Off campus:
3rd Street bars
Pastime lounge
Bulldog
Bars under the overpass (Chelsea's, Ivar's, George's)
State Museum downtown is actually really cool (not the science museum)

Sadly, Chimes Street isn't what it used to be. Maybe walk a circle around that block for old times sake.

The old gym-armory is pretty cool, but wait until midnight or so :D
