I think you have to mix up the formations and personnel to be successful, keep the defense guessing.

If that means Jarrett Lee, then yes he will put the most points on the board if you include the pick-6s

In High School my Sophmore Year we ran the Wing-T and won a lot of games. My Junior Year we added the Power I and won all the games. My Senior Year we added the Pro-Set and won all the games. Its not the cart you pulling its the horses that pulls it!!!!

Yea i do, i think he gives us a better chance to win. To me, JJ had all of last year to distant himself from JL into being our QB and he didnt improve.

didnt want this to turn into another JJ/JL arguments, this bosrd has enough of that. I just wanted to see what one formation and personnel yall would think we could produce the most points out of?

look i would rather see JL sling the ball to our wideouts and let talent do work than to have JJ hold the ball and to play to not lose and then take a 7 yd sack. i dont know i just like our chances better if the ball actually leaves the QB's hands

Once it leaves JLee's hands, there's no telling where it goes.

What good is it if the ball actually leaves his hands and into a defender's? Starting JL is basically spotting the opposing team 7-10 points, IMO...and you CAN NOT do that in the SEC.

As was posted in another thread:

I know this comparison is so old but...
Jefferson: 2585 yds 21 TDs 8 INTs 59% completion
J Lee: 2070 yds 16 TDs 17 INTs 51% completion

Disagree. JJ gives us the better chance to win bc he is SO MUCH better at protecting the ball. I hate to say it bc its frustrating as shite. We should have a VERY solid DEF and a very good FG kicker so I would rather let them win us games. I know it is boring as all hell but it is what it is.

JL gives the opposing teams VERY short fields or pts in many cases with his UNBELIEVABLy poor ball security. Hell if JL would actually take a sack or 2 when shite isn't there then I would be in favor of him playing more but the fact is that he DOES NOT!

Protecting the ball is a good argument. But JJ had took 34 sacks last year for a loss of 232 yards. IMO that doesnt exactly put you in a good position to score points.

and which one led us to the promise land of the 102th best in total offense? and of course hes gonna have a better completion rate when he'll take the sack if theres in doubt. he damn near had 250 yards lost last year in sacks

Lets see you answer this for me:

3-5 sacks a game or 1-2 sacks a game + 1 INT

Give me 3-5 sacks a game ANY DAY. The INT doesn't allow you to punt the ball and in JL's case, is a 6pt TD for the opposing team

Punting from your own 10 yard line bc your qb got sacked twice in the drive doesnt help a lot either.

well yea i'll take the 3-5 sacks a game. and agreed its better to be able to punt the ball rather than given their O the short field. but if our D is as strong as we think its gonna be next year then i just cant stand that we'e gonna go with the mentality to put JJ out there and let him "not lose it for us" when we could put JL out there and roll with it. See what happens, he has improved (at least we can say that about one of our QBs). if he throws the pick our strong D can bail him out with given their O the short feild. if he manages the O like hes shown he can and gets us points, hell we beat teams 30-0. i just think the kid needs a realistic shot of playing QB for this team. the reward is too great not to IMO
