Looking over the schedule, I believe Auburn will be the most crucial game for us this year. Assuming we handle our business and beat Mississippi State, coming home and getting a win over Auburn will be huge for a few reasons.

1) Favorable schedule following AU

The Tigers have Syracuse, Eastern Michigan, South Carolina, Florida and Western Kentucky before taking the following week off. I give us a considerable edge in all of those games. It is more than likely that we could enter Bama week at 8-0 if we take care of Auburn. This is important because it allows us to lose down the stretch and still play in the SECCG and CFB.

2) Brandon Harris' confidence

Nothing will charge this team and its quarterback up for a big run like spanking the Aubbies in Death Valley and exercising those demons from last season.

3) Opponents schedules

- Alabama schedule goes @Georgia, vs. Arkansas, @A&M, vs. Tennessee, vs. LSU, @MsSt and has a virtual bye week before playing @Auburn

-Likely losses include @Georgia, @Auburn and @A&M. Couple that with the fact LSU, Tennessee, Arkansas, and State could all potentially beat them, Bama will finish with 3 losses.

-Auburn - Other challenging games for Auburn outside of the LSU game include road contests at Arkansas and A&M with a home date against Ole miss sandwiched in between. Oh yeah, and the week after a road game with A&M all they have to do is beat UGA..

In summary, if LSU can handle Auburn at home, I think the dominos will fall as expected and LSU wins the West.

Good analysis I suppose. Guess there's nothing else to do in Minden this early!

I'd have to say Auburn as well. Once you get to Alabama and the guantlet, they are all pivotal. It's so hard to run through that stretch undefeated.

You could have just stopped at nothing else to to in Minden.

Agreed. Our first 3 games will basically tell the story of how the rest of the season will play out. Get through MSU and Auburn, and the sky's the limit. November will be brutal, but a 3-0 start would show that this team can handle it.

Alabama will be the most important game... Even if LSU losses to MSU or AU and can get to the Bama game at 7-1.. AND Bama is at 7-1 or 8-0, A wn there will vault us into the top 5... The last three games then become a warm-up to the SEC championship......... So Bama is the most important... Yes I would rather lose a game early than being unbeaten and then lose to Bama...

A lot of people sure are writing off Miss. St. as an easy win. I get that they lost a lot on both sides of the ball, but they still have the most dangerous QB in the league. It will be a tough game.

Playing well in that game would give the team a lot of confidence going into the Auburn game.

frick off punk......... Its my opinion...If you don't like it...Don't respond...... Being 7-1 and beating a 7-1 8-0 Bama will do way more for us than beating AU so early in the season.....

I am thinking Miss St. This game is early and could set a tone for our starting qb and defense. We lose this one and it's tough to rebound, but if we win we will have a confidence boost for the rest of the season.

All the games are important but our first test could set a tone for LSU running the gauntlet.

Maybe but I'd say State just because it is the SEC opener on the road and very early in the season.

Whe I think we will win, starting 0-1 in conference play would out the team in a hole they may not be able to get out of.

I'm between State and Auburn.
Auburn is certainly the better team of the 2, but State is on the road.
Going into a hostile environment and walking out with a win is a huge momentum builder, especially for a young team.

I think if this team walks into State and wins with solid play, it really sets the tone for Auburn coming into Baton Rouge. I'm sure Harris has this game circled on his calendar and is ready for redemption.

I don't think you came off a Bama-sessed but I don't think that the 3 games against Ole Miss, Arkansas, and A&M should be considered a warm up for the SEC championship game (what I think is mainly what Minden was responding to). They all have the ability to beat us. Personally, I'm very worried about Arkansas.

Auburnt may be the pivotal one. Would be another huge disappointment to lose it and/or 'Bama.

@State is season's pivotal game, imo. We beat State in Starkvegas and we'll get double digit wins in 2015.
