Someone in another thread mentioned "poor S&C by Moffitt" as a reason for poor Dline and Oline play. Used to hear about guys getting "Moffittized" in a positive light. Now there seems to be a different tune. If the latter is true, what about his program is weak and needs to change?

Anyone putting blame on Tommy Moffitt has no clue what they are talking about. They are just looking for someone to pin it on.

I have wondered about this some, as well.

When a team with LSU's talent suffers a loss as pathetic as this one, then all aspects need to be assessed.

This includes strength and conditioning programs. Maybe Moffitt is behind the times, who knows? Has he been at LSU too long and grown complacent?

This has been an issue for a while now. Also, having players happy about how easy practices are really pisses me off. Spare me all that shite about being fresh in games. Think Bear Bryant and the Junction Boys. Not only does this make us soft, it contributes to the undisciplined play as well. Yes it worked for Pete Carroll in a weak conference where he had much better players than anyone else.

Seriously...you guys need to just stop with singling out every person in the athletic department.

If the S&C was great for the kids before these...then it's not the program but the level of "want" in the kids to be great.

This loss is squarely on O, Canada, and Aranda. Along with the players who can't seem to grasp the importance of being disciplined and showing up for a game against an SEC foe.

That wasn't a football game last night...that was an arse-stomping and they deserved every bit of it for not stepping up.

And there it is right there. Soft in practices and coddling. Every coach I ever played for yelled the same things in practice time and time again...practice how you want to play. If you practice soft you play soft. Practice like a beast and you'll own the game.

It's clear that O's strategy in practices isn't working...that's where the adjustment needs to be made.

My 2 boys are 8 and 10. Their youth league coaches are more vocal and in the face of the players than what I have seen from LSU's coaches! Too be honest it isnt close!

Moffit is a beast shut the hell up!!
WE need to be more physical at the point of attack
We need to throw the ball like 70% against Syracuse and Troy just to get practice.

It doesn't help when you got O and D lineman that are injured, suspended, ejected, or transferred. LSU is already paper thin in both areas

Because it's not any fault of Moffitt. He is one of the most renowned and respected S&C coaches in history. Two of his prior assistants, Paul Jackson (Ole Miss) and Scott Cochran (Alabama), use the same base workout philosophy they learned under Moffitt.

As well as his former students Vic Viloria (Florida St.) and Joe Danos (NY Giants)

LSU should hire your sons' youth league coaches.

This is not s problem. I saw offensive lineman standing up immediately to run block. We all know this doesn't work. They aren't aggressive. Gilmore lacouture and the sophomore from from destrehan are average at best and without substitutions they are a liability. I was concerned about the DL going in with Oliver and Herron out. Two lines lacking talent is what we saw.

I coach 9-11 year-old tackle and I find your comments disturbing. Raise your voice to make sure they're paying attention, sure.
If they're bringing home bad grades, if mom wants me to discipline them they will be running laps. Safety first, making sure they're having fun, learning the fundamentals and lastly win ball games.
If the parents don't like that they can go to travel football and sit on the bench all season.
