Bradie James was a damn good LB (similar size, similar stats, faster than Minter) and went in the 4th round to the Cowboys.

seriously, I don't think he'll check in at much more than 6'0". that 6'2" was an LSU bump.

People over estimate the value of middle linebacker. Even looking back now, you can only say about a dozen in the last 10 years should have went top 2 rounds.

There are under a handful of middle linebackers in the last 10 years who were/are first rounders. None are this year. Its just how the position is.

I hope Minter is more of a Perry Riley type than a guy like Trev Faulk, who was a great player but didnt measure up.

More and more nfl scouts are saying he is a top 2nd rounder instead of the earlier projections. T'eo is slow too. He is no Willis, whom id say you have to be compared to to be a first rounder.

Yeah, I hope he goes in the 2nd, but if you're a 3rd round pick, you should just stay in school to improve your stock unless you have serious money issues. 3rd round is where it gets sketchy whether you even make the team longterm. 4th rounders and below are when guys start becoming practice squad fodder more commonly.

Not fast enough. He has a better shot to drop to 4th than up to 2nd.

Supply and demand, more teams running 3-4, need more inside backers, unless he has a bad combine, 2nd is probable.

If Teo is round 1, so is Minter. I have actually seen multiple mocks with Minter in round 1. If not, GMs need to wake up. Cheif gets LBers ready to play on the next level. See Mayo, Sheppard, and Riley just recently.

I disagree, 3rd is pretty safe for a couple of years, especially at a position like ILB, where at least you can contribute on Spec Teams. You'd have to really suck in camp and preseason to get cut as a rookie drafted in the first 5 rounds really. Most teams will hang on tho draft picks because they are cheap and also they don't want to admit they were wrong.

As for improving his stock, Minter really couldn't have a better season next year and except for QB, improving your stock with a great season is over rated. I've seen some mocks with him in the 1st, so barring disasterous workouts / combine, 3rd seems like the floor. He's not going to grow or get faster, pro scouts don't care about stats as much as fans think, especially defensive stats like tackles which are notoriously inflated. He's already graduated, plus has a red shirt year so he's been here 4 years. No need for him to stay and he'd look pretty good next to Brian Cushing next year.

Even if there is NOTHING he can do to increase his stock? He won't be taller or faster next year, will he? It is what it is. Sounds like the kid recognizes that. Good luck Minter!

He's 6-2 and will run a 4:5 at the combine!

Atltiger where do you get your info?

He is listed as the #2 MLB some of his numbers are better then TEO. Like tackles for loss.

he was #3 but Mosley stayed.

Mosley was projected as a Middle linebacker in the NFL.

Minter is listed by scout in highschool as 6-1.

He will run a faster time then Teo!
