re: Miles was on OTB with T bob this morning
ugh at the time I thought it was the correct move, but now I know it was only done to allow a snake in the door.

but yes I said earlier, Miles is absolutely crushing the PR war. His wife going out of her way on the podcast to mention their love for Baton Rouge, the school, etc. They're sending a message

I don't endorse Les for permanent AD, but maybe if we fire Joe soon he can step in temporarily until we find our guy. I mean frick we're already paying him anyway

Why the hell does Miles sound so much smarter than I remember? Is it because we're used to this now:

Did he ever address Jordy? Or did he continue to call Jordy T-Bob the whole time? At first I thought it was an accident. Then he continued. It was obvious it was intentional.

At the very end he said it’s great to be on the Jordy and TBob Show. He was trolling Jordy the whole time

I was pulling up to work at 7:30 just as it was nearing the end and I was cracking up. The trolling was hilarious.

It was the only move.

This was the part that will get Joe fired.....I'd fire Joe if LSU loses to Florida if it were me....hell I'd have fired Joe after Troy.

He's a fairly likeable guy that can talk circles around people with, for lack of a better term, quotes that nobody understands. I mean he's a guy that can get people to agree with him and support him...yet the same people can't tell you even a clue of what he actually talked about.

Couple of things I took away from the interview. 1.)Miles said he never made excuses for playing freshman. He said he played 19 one year and 15 another. 2.)He never went into a game thing he would lose. T bob reaffirmed that said they always thought they were going to kick some ass. 3.) O is paying to much attention to the outside noise. Miles said you can't run a program and let the stuff being said outside the program get to you.

Because as a coach, he's paranoid of saying anything that might "help" the other team or outsiders learn something about his team. So he talks in riddles basically. When he's off the record, or in person or recruiting, he's a totally different guy. Something like this podcast setup or even hosting a radio show is right up his alley

When was the last time a 63 year old HC was hired at a P5 program?

Your name makes this ironic...

He better be.

And the ending of the intro video should be Les saying “it’s saturday night in Death Valley”.

Perfect scenario for Miles. After he was fired last year and O's interim team set offensive records, Miles was looking really bad.

Then this year, and Miles' reputation has recovered somewhat.

I still think Miles drastically underachieved his last 3+ years here and needed to be fired, but Miles has to be smiling (deep down) that the O implosion has resurrected some respect for Miles.

I guess you missed the part where I called it a pipe dream where we use Les to acquire Mike Gundy. There's no way on earth it actually happens.

re: Miles was on OTB with T bob this morning
Ogeron is only concern is Ed Ogeron and making sure he keeps the job he schemed to get last year. From the second he was named interim it was an all out campaign to get the permanent job. This was fricking Johnny Jones 2.0 (except Jones had more integrity than Ogeron. Dale Brown led the charge on that)

Ogeron feigns accountability as the HC while throwing everyone under the bus to make excuses why his program has collapsed in less than a year. The OC sucks. The veteran players suck. Everyone but Ogeron sucks. Just ask, he'll tell you.

That meeting with Alleva was nothing more than trying to convince Joe that none of this is Ogeron's fault and he needs time to build "his" program (even though continuity was the excuse for giving him the job and much of this staff is responsible for the players who O will gladly tell you suck)

I strongly suspect after this season there will be big staff changes because either O runs them off or they leave on their own because they don't trust/respect the HC. At that point he will get HIS gaggle of buffoons in place and really tank things. Anyone with a brain sees it coming from a mile away. Unfortunately, the one person who can stop it is tied at hip with Ogeron and equally as clueless.

If the board of supervisors, president, etc. had ANY business sense whatsoever, they would immediately fire Alleva. Go to College Station and do everything necessary to bring Scott Woodward home. Then let Woodward fire Ogeron and eat this multi-million dollar mistake as a horrible business decision and move on. Yes, it would be a big pill to swallow, but if they don't, things are only going to get worse in the future.

Compare it to the decision to scrap "New Coke" after a multi-million dollar investment. That's what you have to do here. Swallow your medicine in football and thank your lucky stars the basketball and baseball program appear to be headed in the right direction. Keep Wade happy and the basketball program will flourish. Baseball is fine right now. Football has the potential to be great again, but not with the current administration. THEY HAVE TO GO or they are going to crash the multi-million dollar business that is LSU athletics.

Lesticles loved it here and became a part of LSU. It was time for him to go, but man he gave us some great memories/heart attacks with his damn strong football teams.

Takes being humble to offer sound advice to the guy that has your job.

Class act Les....I would prefer him over JA all day everyday, not saying that is our best possible AD but better than the one we have now.

Reminds me of Notre Dame 2016 with Brian Kelly's collapse.

Serious question, please answer honestly:

If that had been you, having put over 10 years into a job you've come to love, reached the absolute pinnacle of the profession, and was still holding things together but in a downward slide;
if you were fired and the process of firing was dragged out over 2 seasons;
if you were over 60, and you have a guaranteed $4 mil to not work;

would you jump at the first job, or would you take some time (a year, maybe? I mean, we're talking 4 million dollars to piddle around the house)?

I don't blame him for taking time off. At that age, I might retire, but I'd at least decompress a bit, and then decide whether I want to even get back in the game.

2015...then the fans did what they did at the aTm game and Joe decided he wanted to be a puddin pop and not do the job.
There was nothing else he could do, and it had NOTHING to do with the fans. Jimbo played LSU and Alleva, and there was no plan B.

But hey, learn from mistakes, right? HA! 2016, Jimbo AND Herman played Alleva and LSU.

Story I've heard is that Jimbo was in, and we pulled the plug.

I'm going to put this out there, and people can bitch if they want:

Miles didn't "HAVE" to go. We wanted a change in things, but Miles had the program solidly winning.
Miles wasn't quitting, so you didn't HAVE to replace him.

If you're going to replace someone, Miles, anyone, you get someone better, unless the guy you have leaves.

If you don't have a better coach than Miles 100% locked up, contract in hand waiting to sign, you don't fire Miles. You wait a couple more years until he retires, then go find the best you can.

Technically, the same applies to Orgeron- but I guarantee you can find a better coach willing to commit, without waiting very long.

My hesitation with him being AD is his stubbornness but he would absolutely help LSU with the PR disaster they are now. They should seriously think about using him in some administrative role.
