We were a few days late on Harsin - Texas didn't just choose Harsin Article in AAS
quote:

"LSU is a great school, and I really was flattered that coach Miles, who's an amazing coach, was interested in me," Harsin said. "In any other situation, I would have talked about the offer with my family. I told him I'd already accepted a job at Texas, and I wouldn't feel right if I didn't honor that."

So because Miles waited around to fire Crowton, we missed on a top notch candidate. Awesome

You're probably right....I stopped looking at the "who do you want for OC" threads after about the 3rd one.

Either way...i think we still had a bowl game to play when he accepted the UT offer.

I was thinking the same thing. He rejected the Alabama 3 yrs earlier also. Maybe he knows that the athletes in the SEC will kill his gimmick offenses???

If Texas was willing to give Muschamp the coach in waiting that might have swayed Harsin as well if he does well enough he could be the next coach in waiting.

LSU is not hiring a coach in waiting and Harsin would have no chance without head coaching experience.

Miles' belief that you reward shitty coaches and players pays off for LSU yet again!

Was Harsin at Boise St when UGA spanked them to open the football season a few yrs ago??? (48-13 in 2005)

Maybe Harsin saw what happened when his offense played with the real defense
