Does he not realize that execution is coached and NOT an excuse for failure? Coaches recruit. Coaches teach. Coaches develop. Coaches call plays. And players EXECUTE how they are taught by their COACHES... Miles is in denial that he is the root cause of poor execution...

MMan, you're preaching to the Choir, but this fanbase is so fractured, nobody gives a shite anymore.

Understand what you are saying.

I think what Miles is getting at is close to (if not) blaming the players, which he normally doesn't do. Basically, we have coached
them correctly, they run the plays correctly in practice, but for some reason not consistently in the games. If not coach, why not is the real question. Discipline? Mental toughness?

Exactly... That's why I was surprised at him blaming the players for execution

Miles can't suit up for the players, nor can he coach the players on how to execute. Wait...no. That came out wrong. Maybe the players really aren't that good?? Wait a second...that would mean maybe Miles isn't that great of a recruiter. But why are so many LSU players on NFL rosters???? I'm so confused...

ALL I KNOW is Miles is exempt from all wrong doing. He's SIMPLY such a great guy!!!

According to the pumpers, weren't they claiming Miles was mouthing "he's got it! he's got it!", while he was simultaneously, and coincidentally, performing a spiking motion with his right arm??? Even then, the pumpers didn't believe their own eyes.

This coming from a person who eats grass and speaks English as if it were his second language.

Lol... Another in a long line of strange coaching scenes from Miles... An elite coach would know that the clock starts when the ball is placed there... Lol... Miles: "Clock it!!!!"

Execution is obviously not the only issue, the style of play is easily defended! Miles philosphy will work in some games, but not when it gets to November. By that point he is fooled its working and doesn't come up with a back up plan. Time for him to get his shite together or just go. I'm rooting for him, I really am. But, I just don't think he has what it takes to change. Too. damn. stubborn.

Yes. And arrogant. After watching LSU pay this man over $40 million, I'm sick that he is still drawing a huge check. Miles was a good coach for the first 5 years.... But EVERYTHING changed on 1/9/12. And the LSU administration doesn't see that...

Did GoodOleLess repeat as coach of the year ? If so, that would explain Fournette's failure to win the Heisman . Everybody was in awe at the coaching moves GOL was "executing", and failed to realize how well Fournette really was playing .

But he didn't.

He blamed the coaches too.

Stop reading half the quote.

No. I'm not talking about one quote. I'm talking about a consistent theme of comments about the teams execution in nearly all post game press conferences. Miles clearly denies any responsibility for execution. But he does it in a way that blames the players without it sounding like that.... Sheer denial.

It's hard for the players to execute successfully when the other teams can key on what LSU is doing. That's where good coaching and game planning comes into play, which LSU seems to be lacking in.
