How long before it catches up to LSU on the field and the recruiting trail? How long will top receiver recruits and Quarterbacks want to keep coming here to block and hand off? I have always appreciated Miles but he keeps getting more and more conservative, and surely this brings negative recruiting in play for other coaches. I keep waiting for that breakout game, but after watching 4 games our passing game is just stale looking.

May not last long. But the players do seem to love him.

Never. Les is an elite recruiter who has a staff full of elite recruiters.

For as long as LSU fields a football team.

Sure it's brings negative recruiting but it doesn't matter. Les and his staff are recruiting at the highest level possible.

The past two weeks they came out throwing the ball. Penalties against Syracuse set us back, and the entire receiving Corp had a brain fart after the first drive on Saturday.

Its super conservative when he has a Freshman or Sophomore QB. When he has a Junior its opened up a little more, when its a Senior the gloves are off (Flynn 2007, Lee/Jefferson 11, Mettenberger 2013).

The thing is 2014 we had a Sophomore and this year we have another Sophomore. Next year you'll see more trust in Brandon and assuming he comes back as a Senior you'll see an offense centered around balance.

He protects his QBs, to a fault sometimes, but he saw what starting a true freshman did in 2008. That fricked Jared Lee's confidence up for 2 years.

LSU is one of the few schools that still teach the route tree and run a pro style offense. Because of this miles will always get top receivers since learning this in college is better than posting crazy stats in a spread offense but not have the knowledge to succeed in the NFL. Also a reason a high percentage of our receivers make it in the nfl

Recruits want to be with a WINNER. Les is doing what he has to do to be that this year. It hasn't always been like this, but he is riding LF like a rented mule. Receivers that don't like it need to go elsewhere.

We are said to have the #1 recruiting class in the nation for 2016. I am sure that Ed O won't hurt that. Neither will the publicity that LF7 has brought us. That, and the fact that there are more former LSU PLAYERS ON NFL rosters right now than ANY TOHER COLLEGE TEAM.

Yeah, recruits will come. They always do.

Mile's "old school" coaching has 8 or 9 receivers in the freaking NFL! How many pass happy college teams claim more?

Some people are so stupid...

After all these years, don't you think the recruits know Miles style? Yet he keeps hauling in top classes. This is a silly thread.

I feel what your saying but I think Miles sell the recruits on the want for a more balanced offense that utilizes the potential of his skilled players. Just never really seems to work out for one reason or another so far. I think the want is still there, although after the last couple of games, the process has been affected negatively.

Catch up? Check our record the last few years. It will cost us a few games this year as well... just like it almost cost us the State game.

he will prob retire before that happens.

But just look at 2012. After throwing for 97 yards against tamu, mett went 4 straight games with 200+ yards including 298 against bama. The second most yards against bama in LSU history.

With out the drops, which was an issue in 12, Harris would at least have 2 games already over 200.

I still have faith.
