I don't necessarily have to have two quarterbacks . . . The issue is I have two quarterbacks that both deserve to play with different skills. I want both of those skill sets on the field. It happens to benefit our team in a long season, hopefully in a championship, to have two quarterbacks ready to play.

This is what baffles me. He sold the resurgence of Jefferson on the dual skill sets of the two. The constrasting styles making gameplanning more difficult for the other side. I believed him; he was right.

But then, he did a 180.

SIAP. I know this horse has rigamortis, but I've not posted since the game and I just wanted to voice some frustration.

So, there it is.

He also said about this same time that he would prefer to have one QB that had both skill sets.

Look it's not hard to understand, he was going to say whatever he needed to justify playing Jefferson. When Lee played well, it was to push a two QB system. When Jefferson started, he was going to stick with one guy and he justified by the pass rush. Hell after the Western Kentucky game he justified not bringing in Lee until late because of Western Kentucky's pass rush.

In reality, once he got Jefferson on the field, he was not going to give Lee any chance to earn the starting job back.

Yep, and it's undeniable now.

BTW -- Everybody bashed Guilbeau for his article after the Western Kentucky game, but if you go back and read that article, he hit the nail on the head two months ago.

I know, but I wanted to believe him.

Just like I wanted to believe that the progressively slower starts of our offense weren't going to bite us in the arse against 'bama.

I guess life isn't all unicorns and Crystal Footballs.

Miles had consistently been lying his arse off to the fanbase since November.

After every game it was why did Lee not get more snaps when JJ was struggling?

After every game we the answer that he really wanted to put Lee in, but the timing and situation was never right to put him in.

Meanwhile Lee got less and less snaps per game.

When asked why he kept saying it was never intentional and he wanted to put Lee out there.

Yep. He is dishonest. Something that could easily lose him the locker room, being a players coach and all.

People have asked me why I think Miles had this JJ preference, and I think he honestly felt sorry for the guy, or felt some strong desire to see JJ succeed. It affected his judgement. It's been obvious for a long time that there was some strange attachement.

But there are those that say Miles was risking a million dollars to do this

(most, if not all, were JJ supporters, BTW)

I think you hit the nail on the head. Les allowed some political correctness BS to interfere with this wonderful season. He wanted to undo what he felt were ignorant cops, fans, whatever. He wanted JJ to overcome the arrest, and win the BCS.

This started long before the arrest, and was obvious last season. He praised JJ following horrible games, and I think that is when people started asking questions.

He's not the only one. JJ supporters on my Facebook were spouting that LSU would need both to beat Bama Pre-11/5. When I told them they were right, it would take both to beat Bama Tuesday, no response from any of them.

In Lee's freshman year, he began the season with Hatch as the co/ starter for LSU. JJ was not even a thought. 3 star riding the bench.

Hatch has injury issues and loses playing time. (eventually transfers). Lee was young and not ready... Pick 6 here we come.

So the fanbase puts pressure on Miles (can we say "hot seat"?). Here comes JJ. LSU succeeds because no one is ready for this freshman's wrecklessness. He helps put away GT in the peach bowl. Miles' job is saved (so he thinks he owes JJ. Something special brewing).

And that my friends is my opinion of how we ended up with Monday night and the way we got there.

Makes you wonder what that attachment is? Hmmm? This quote does not quell the situation but enflames it even more.

I still think JJ was never recruited with an expectation to be a starter for LSU and it took an incredible sequence of events for that to happen and for us to be stuck with him for basically four years.

I seem to remember him saying something about turnovers not being accepted in this offense. Well, 3 JJ turnovers in the championship game, throw him back in there
