People really seem convinced for some reason that defeating a middle-of-the-road Texas Tech team in a third-tier bowl game was some sort of monumental accomplishment.

The hire of Aranda and the presumed success of the 2016 signing class should pay dividends, but let's not act like the bowl win is part of a huge wave of momentum generated that will catapult LSU to a title next season.

My point being, don't buy too much into that win. There are too many significant factors and variables involved in the 2016 squad's development to determine their potential. Beating one of the worst defenses in the country in a game we were favored to win is nearly a non-factor regarding any potential turnaround Miles might generate.

Manieri is the king of putting together these phenomenal regular seasons...only to fizzle out in the NCAA Tournament. Baseball will do fine mostly because of Alan Dunn and his brilliant pitching staff. However, I wouldn't be shocked if they were eliminated by an inferior team, as has been in the case in multiple postseasons.

I'm sorry, I can't take you serious after reading this statement. Beating a team with the worst defense of any power 5 school in the country in a Dec. 29th bowl is not considered a "big bowl game".
