miles is not afraid to pass

this is my opinion. why doesn't he pass more often?
again, imho, miles does just what he believes he needs to do to win a football game. that is his pedigree - to really love old style football - blocking and tackling.
if in the staff's evaluation they don't have to pass, they won't. they're not scared to pass, it's not that they don't like passing, they just love the running game and if they can win with that that's what the game plan will be.
we pass more when we get behind in the score or if we know that we are playing a team that's going to score a lot of points.
This is not a defect in Coach Miles. It's just who he is. we'll rely on the run and mix a very few passes in there - just enough to keep the other team "honest". a lot of fans believe we need more passing to keep them honest, but that's a matter of opinion.
auburn does not appear to be a big powerhouse, so we'll be pounding that rock.
under these circumstances, if I am correct, we do not want to see much passing.
having said that, I believe the passing game, when called on, will produce some pretty good results. we could go 8 of 10, for example, for 150 yards and 1 or 2 tds.
there's nothing wrong with miles. he is doing what he knows and what he likes. and that ain't gonna change, no matter how wonderful our athletes perform when called upon.
I'm set now to enjoy another close Tiger win!

When teams put 9 and even 10 in the box and sell out to the run only, they are no where near "honest" about your passing game
Come on man
Eta: How many times did we set up a PA on 1st or 2nd down to "keep them honest"? I will hang up and listen

Your Social Security check is in.

Well, Harris said he checked out of passes, so it's hard to say for sure.
What I do know is that State started stuffing Fournette more in the second half, but he still made it to the end zone.
And, it's hard to say bc of the penalties we had in the second half.
Was I happy about the playcalling in the second half? Not really, but I recognize that but for the penalties we wouldn't have been in a nailbiter.

Methinks you dont understand the box. You do realize there are only 11 defenders, right? You just described a goal line defense. Only saw that for a few plays. No one puts 10 in the box, dummy.

This is all that really needs to be said. Those penalties were a game changer.

Tbob did a good job of putting things in perspective.. I overreacted after game but I like this football team and I definitely like us this sat to win big

So let's just continue to run and not audible out when the opposing team has atleast 8 in the box. Yep makes perfect sense!

Why don't we do more of those 7-10 yard curl patterns or square outs (like Dak threw at us in the 4th quarter that we couldn't seem to stop)? Especially with our athletes, just get them the ball and let'em go. But NOT the behind-the-LOS quick pass which is a disaster waiting to happen. First, its success is contingent on a successful block on extremely quick DBs. Second, one of those quick passes is going to be a lateral that's bobbled, scooped up, and run in for 6 by one of those aforementioned quick DBs.

Well we were a missed fg away from losing. We can't run with 9 in the box. Miles is afraid to let BH make his mistakes and throw the ball

You realize there are 11 players on offense and defense at a time right?
Who is the dummy now?

During the game Luginbill said the he was looking to the sideline for checks so again it was the coaches.

Still the people saying we were running into 10 man boxes all night.

The 1 and 0 are on opposite sides of the keypad, methinks you are telling a fib

Notice how the hat rises high above his head. Notice the hat. Look at the hat. Be consumed with the hat. Don't take your eyes off the hat.
