He is not going to quit. They have to fire him so he can make his buyout money. It is pretty simple. He is not going to negotiate a better deal for LSU. No one on this board would if this was their life. It is what it is. The guy doesn't want to retire, he is not going to quit, he wants buyout money the only option on the table is you have to fire him.

The term of him leaving is all sanmantics, adults that are performing poorly at high level big boy jobs meet with decision makers and negotiate their exit.

Why is this so hard for you people to understand, loosen up the Velcro on your shoes, need maximum blood flow to the noggin.

A calm mutual graceful exit was all but eliminated by the classlessness of the administration.

He is too stubborn to quit. He will make them fire him.

As stupid as I think he is, he's an adult who knows the game. What do you think is going on right now, they will come to an agreement and he will move on.

Or you could safely assume that Miles has and had no intention of quitting. But you won't allow that option to be considered.

Joe needed this to make the move. Without the pressure and fallout, people would be saying Les needs one more year and he would be getting heat for thinking about moving on. Now, he has cover because he is swimming with the news cycle. It might not be graceful, but it was what had to happen for Joe to get to this point.

why would he quit? he's in a no lose situation.

Stay and get paid to coach or get fired and collect $15m to NOT coach.

Why would he not force the buyout money? He could set up his grandkids for the rest of their lives with that money. Would you walk away from 15 million?

That may have been the case that Les would force a firing but the story was leeked by the AD and a BOS member 3 weeks before the end of the season. We get much less bad press if this was playing out over the course of 1-2 days rather than weeks.

Also, Les didn't do himself any favors with the Ole Miss performance. Get criticized for being undisciplined mess, poor defense, terrible special teams, and you come out and have your worst performance on all fronts of the year. Wow.

Horse shite. 3 double digit losses including 2 to Arkansas and Ole Miss?

Our a decent amount of our fans wanted Les fired after going 11-2 in 2010 and 10-2 regular season in 2012.

3 double digit SEC losses after the last 3 years was more than enough.

The proof is in the pudding. We have idiots RIGHT NOW on here talking about ways to retain Les. There is no good way to retain Les now and people still want to try and do it. Joe did all of this on purpose, and he's going to get what he wants. If his plan fails, he's going to be the next one fired.

Why does "bad press" matter? Once it is over, it's over. And there are plenty of other high-profile jobs open/opening this offseason to steal the headlines for weeks.

Only one thing matters: Getting the new hire right.

"How many times do I have to say it? I'm not going to be the Alabama coach."

thats like 3-4 people on a website of 8000+

The time and situation had finally reached a tipping point and the wheels were in motion and all we needed to do was watch calmly make some quiet calls and let it happen. Alleva steered us into the iceberg with a blow horn screaming the unsinkable ship is gonna sink.
