I love Les Miles. He is the greatest coach in LSU history and can flat out win games. He's an unbelievable recruiter and his players love him. The program is in great shape.

The Mile's led 2011 team is the greatest team in college football history. That team won the SEC, defeated the National Champion, the Rose Bowl Champion, The Orange Bowl Champion and the Cotton Bowl Champion. This will never be accomplished again and that team should have a share of the title.

The weakness is his ability to recruit and develop QB's. In Mile's tenure he has never recruited an even average QB (Mett doesn't count, he is a GA transfer). LSU would have multiple NC's with good QB play. Not great, just good. We have the best players in the country at most other positions. At what point do you have to hold him accountable for not being able to provide even adequate QB play?

It's not his job to develop quarterbacks.

Do you want a below-average former Olineman developing your quarterback?

Our coaching staff is the absolute highest paid in college football.
We should EXPECT to be able to recruit and DEVELOP top flight QBs

He's the head coach, its his job to make sure they are developed. The buck stops with him and the lack of competent QB play has cost LSU championships.

I'm in...just don't know what I think. Miles and Jennings didn't drop those passes last night. But it is true that we haven't had the best passing quarterbacks here at LSU...so I just don't know.

So you're saying bad QB play is a problem for LSU? Huh.

upvote.

to be fair to Jennings, Quinn dropped two key passes on 3rd down, Dupre dropped one and Dural falling down cost us a TO and three points.

Why does Miles get credit as a great recruiter when he doesn't even lock down the state most years?

Does anyone else watch other teams.?? TCU, WV, nCSt, Boston college!!! All have serviceable QB's. The problem is the capacity for growth. We saw it in JJ and others. Jennings just doesn't have the aptitude to excell, he has the physical talent. Not seeing a wide open field in front of himself on the last play, when he has only two choices-throw to Dupre or run, is the best example. A smart QB is more important than a talented one. Decisions win football games, not chucking it down the sidelines hoping one of your deep guys will "make a play". That's not how any OC can manage an offense.

Can you be an unbelievable recruiter if you can't recruit the most important position in all of sports? Furthermore, I don't necessarily accept the premise that he can't recruit qbs. He recruited Periloux, Russell, Harris, etc. Harris is a legit talent at qb.

I can see for Mile's and Mile's and Mile's and Mile's and Mile's and Mile's.

I'm guessing the OP is from Woodville, MS.

Why don't they recruit big strong armed pocket passers to fit the scheme?

It's his job to hire someone that can develop QBs. This is entirely 100% on Miles.

This. Our receivers can catch balls with one hand, but have trouble when they try to use both.

You can't teach or coach FB Apptitude or decision making! Can't teach everyone to sing! People have limits and they are real

This is my point exactly.
Take your issue to Cam Cameron. Great hire! everyone said.
Before that it was Kragthorpe. Great hire! everyone said. Then Krag's got sick.
Before that it was Crowton. Great hire! everyone said. Until four years later, when it wasn't.

Nobody has disapproved of the guy Miles' hired to develop quarterbacks when the hire was made.
Now do you see my point?
