Screw JJ
Screw JJ

I don't think Miles wants a HC job. He's getting $125,000 a month so sit on his arse if he doesn't get one

Johnny Jones is not as bad as reactionary fans think he is. He has had some success but his time has run. He has coached somewhere for the last 30 years and will no doubt coach somewhere next year if he wants it.
Instead of the daily bashing thank him for his years of service as a player and coach at LSU and wish him well on his future endeavors. The results may not be what we all wanted but he has earned our respect for always being a classy representative of the school.

Jones is not from the bayou. Not one of us. Don't speak the language.

I've always like Johnny, the person. But a little passion out of him would be nice. His dream job is slipping away and he just sits there and stares. I guess that's just who he is. I don't wish anything bad on him though. It's just frustrating.

I know some Tiger fans may find this hard to believe. But head coaches as lousy as Johnny have somehow landed other coaching jobs after unpopular departures.

Exactly. He is doing the absolute minimum to ensure that check.
Hmm, come to think of it, no different when he was a head coach...

Miles doesn't want a job, and JJ will land somewhere.

At LSU? When?

Since you asked: Looks like 4 successful seasons followed by 4 weeks where the wheels have come off. Not great, but not the dumpster fire people like you portray. You can cherry pick all you want but when you the positive can also be picked.
2012–13 LSU 19–12 9–9 T–8th
2013–14 LSU 20–14 9–9 T–6th NIT Second Round
2014–15 LSU 22–11 11–7 T–3rd NCAA Second Round
2015–16 LSU 19–14 11–7 T–3rd
2016–17 LSU 9–13 1–10
LSU: 89–64 (.582) 41–42 (.494)
Total: 294–226 (.565)

Yes, he is. When is the last time a #1 overall pick's team didn't make the NCAA tournament? Don't worry, I'll answer for you. 1978. That's how bad Johnny is. And don't act like Simmons didn't have a good enough supporting cast, because he did.

1-10 in SEC play isn't dumpster fire? Lol.

Well said. It's really the same deal as Les. You never want to see a good person lose their job, but we all agree it's time. LSU paid a cheap salary and got what it paid for (actually better up until this season).
I hate that Johnny failed at his dream job, and I thought he had the best introductory press conference I'll ever see for an LSU coach. It just showed this genuinely was his dream job, and it's not like anyone wanted to win at LSU more than him.
Wish the dude great success, and he'll make for a nice recruiter at a P5 school. Hell, I'm sure UNT would take him back

He and the other incompetent/dysfunctional individual that hired him, need to be shown the door.
Can we please get two individuals with high standards of excellence to run the Athletic Department and Basketball program!...............

You call seasons with no ncaa tourney appearances successful? Jones has been a total failure from day 1 his record is fools gold with empty wins from playing the worst schedules this school has ever seen. Putting lipstick on a pig has become a profession for some of our fans and it's pathetic.
