Miles: NCAA not accepting Anthony's paperwork from Miller McCoy - which closed down in Anthony's junior year. Anthony can take an academic redshirt season and join team in spring.

Miles says he can't comment on Travonte Valentine status.

Andre Anthony will, indeed, take a redshirt this fall and get eligible while at #LSU for the spring.

LSU's appeal was denied.

I don't know everything and neither do a lot of people. But if this school shut down, it's not the kid's fault. Unless there's some kind of proof that he's forging academic results I think he should be given the benefit of the doubt.

Very good Buck OLB recruit we got. Anthony tore things up in camps and rose up a bit. Ended up #111 overall in country on 247's own rankings which is obviously very high praise.

Luckily we have Key, Clark and Sci Martin to fill the buck role this year. Martin was a late add and probably a good one considering what just happened to Anthony.

Here's to hoping Anthony keeps on track and is able to play in 2017

And the NCAA claims to be all about the student-athletes. Shame.

Ahh when I first read the thread before it was updated i tbought it was an older player who had been processed. I was racking my brain because usually I have a good mememory ofthe roster. But I didn't not keep up with recruiting much this season

Time to litigate against the NCAA. There are damages here.

If Anthony actually suits up as a tiger eventually, I have no doubt he will be a force. One of the quickest pass rushers I've seen on film in a while.

Why did the NCAA admit other Miller McCoy prospective student athletes but not Anthony? MM was a Charter School...has the Recovery School District been contacted to attempt to work this issue?

Better yet...has Chas Roemer and the BESE Board? Or John White with the Department of Education? Sounds as if a man's right to an education is being jeopardized by potential policy and or procedural violations.

The kid is getting an education. He just won't be able to play football this year.

Can he still practice with the team? Seems even more irresponsible to hinder this kids growth and take away a real redshirt year from him for some bullshite

We went out and got 2 top flight pass rushers in Anthony and Martin for sure this cycle. We have an exciting future after Key/Clark/Washington. Martin was "only" a 3-star but had 33.5 sacks (not a typo) as a senior at McD35

AGREED

This situation is ABSOLUTE BS!

The HS he moved to and the STATE OF LOUISIANA have certified his graduation. If he has met the ACT score the young man should be eligible.

The NCAA has authority to denounce his HS diploma????

ETA: if he was allowed to graduate wouldn't that demand his academic status from the previous school already have been validated?

Not sure about practicing, but I'm sure he can at least use the facilities..

Hell, he'll be on scholarship. If anything, make him a manager so he can have the access to everything.
