I saw the thread about the changing of LSU's colors, so it inspired me to look up other LSU traditions, and I came across this one:
I've never heard about this one. Has anybody ever seen/heard about it?

PETA is going to blow out that smoke very quickly. We have seen the last live mascot at LSU.

really? you don't have the authority to do that sir. it is you and your overzealous organization that is pissing into the wind.
this being an issue is bull shite. y'all are making it one for publicity and fund raising. you should be ashamed of yourselves; there are many necessary and worthwhile animal related issues that need attention and help.
it's a shame that "rattling your sword" is used to raise money. maybe dumb stances like this are what's hurting your fund raising; maybe excessive salaries and expenses are a culprit, but I think you should capitalize on worthy animal issues and publicize those. that should increase fundraising. just to list a few.......
unwanted and abandoned family pets; illegal exotic pets that represent dangers to other animals (including people); mistreated farm animals, etc, etc.
the very name PETA has been tarnished with millions of people; people that are animal lovers like me. it seems the "radicals" have taken over and care more about feathering their own nest than the treatment of animals. your board of directions need to clean house, alter your agenda and change your name; ie, start over.
