Mett has had the best 1 and 1/2 game stretch since Rohan Davey in 2001....

I've watched a lot of college football this year, and I'm not sure I've seen a quarterback in the country play a better stretch. He's looked off more safeties than Mccarron has in 2 years. He has more pure arm talent than any QB in the country. He's not a system guy like Geno Smith.

2 plays epitomize his progression. The pass to James Wright down the sideline was beautiful. He looked down the middle of the field and held the safety, and then he threw a frozen rope to Wright. It was a throw Tom Brady would have been proud of. My favorite throw was a subtle 10 yard completion to OBJ. He had Ware in the flat open. However, a DB was shading him. It would have been a dead play. He stares at Ware and it drew the attention of 3 defenders to Ware. He then throws another frozen rope to Beckham.

The throw to Landry down the seam was an outstanding throw as well.

We're seeing the awakening of a giant. He has the potential to be the number 1 pick in the draft next year if he continues to progress.

I love Mett, but there is no way

Not going to look up any stats, but the name Jamarcus Russell comes to mind. Pretty sure he had a better stretch than this.

He has thrown people open, which is an incredibly rare characteristic of college quarterback. Most wait until their receivers are open throw it. Mett has anticipation Jamarcus NEVER had.

Statistically, Jamarcus probably has had a better 2 game stretch. From a pure passing standpoint, I never saw Jamarcus look off safeties and play defenses with his eyes

Man I hope you're right. If only we had played him more last season, ESPECIALLY in all of the garbage time we had, maybe it would have paid off against Florida this season.

I don't see how you could argue mett is as good as rohan was in 2001.

Could he be? yes, he could. but we need a receiver that can catch anything. Landry might be that guy, but I saw too many drops early in the season to say that.

Mett made Bama his bitch in the second half. I'm honestly not sure I've seen a better QB performance in my lifetime as an LSU fan.

He threw one 3 and six pass to Boone I believe that was orgasmic. He was under pressure, and the DB was in solid position. Mett threw to the outside shoulder of the receiver, and it went for a 20 yard gain. NFL QBs and elite college quarterbacks are the only QBs who make that throw.

Russel in 06 did pretty much what he wanted..whoever said that they didn't see him look off safeties and play D's with his eyes is probably right, but he really didn't need to because he could throw a grape through a brick wall

I'm not sure who he listened to or what coaching techniques were used, but the lookoff/receiver checkoffs/progression was NOT there before the bye week. He was staring down receivers, not going to secondary, not picking up left-side blitzes. After the bye week, all of a sudden he's doing the right things.

Great to see but....???

The ones laughing at the thought of Mett not being a first round talent are high as shite. Nobody thought J Rock would be a first rounder until he started lighting it up at the end of the 2006 season. Mett is going to be dynamite next season. I was so pumped to see that the Bama game wasn't a fluke and that he was slinging two weeks in a row.

This shouldn't surprise anyone. Mett was very good early in the year but the OL and WRs killed drives and his confidence. He's had 2 bad games all year. USC and aTm. The emergence of Turner and Vadal helped him along with a much needed off week to get our offense on the same page.

It isn't that the "light just came on" for Mett. Something is very different about this offense. It didn't just go from clunker to high octane in a week.
