I doubt Chavis would let go of a 6'3 245 LB who runs a legit 4.6 and can cover recievers.

Show me film of him covering sec-caliber receivers.

He went to camp and earned his offer by covering receivers in front of Chavis. I'll take his opinion over yours.

OK. Let's make him the new drop linebacker and see how it works out.

This. He is extremely athletic for a guy his size.

You must really dumb. I never said he would cover a teams number 1 receiver, nor that he was the best coverage LB ever. But he did impress the best LB coach in the country with his overall ability, including in coverage.

It's basically implied that he'll cover the middle, sometimes flats, and overall the TE's. You're the dumbass who tried to exaggerate something simple.

Sorry you had a stupid suggestion. Maybe you should learn some shite for next time.

What's wrong with playing fullback? What makes you think his athletic abilities can't be utilized there?

Fullbacks are a dime a dozen. Why waste his talent and athleticism there?

If they're a dime a dozen, who will LSU be lining up there next fall?

Why would it be wasting his talent? He could surely contribute.

Exactly. The majority of our fullbacks have been walk-ons. While Melvin Jones is a true MLB. Moving him would be a huge waste of talent. Especially this year when we have 2 great guys at FB and not much depth at MLB.

Wouldn't be suprised at all to see Jones playing a good bit mid way through this season.
