Maybe it's just my timing but it seems every time I have college football programs on XM radio I'm hearing nothing about LSU???
I thought we had a pretty dominating and impressive win. A lot of the pundits' questions were addressed regarding Coach O and QB.
Are you guys hearing much? Maybe it's good to be under radar???

we exceeded expectations but it's not like we weren't favored to win the game by 3 scores as it was. Just take it one game at a time and if we keep winning that stuff will take care of itself. We were the belle of the ball coming out of the TCU game in 2013 and how did that turn out?

It's almost always better to be under the radar. It motivates a team. BYU didn't look impressive at all in their first game, so the decisive victory naturally won't get a lot of attention when there were other bigger and more exciting games. Not allowing BYU to cross the 50 was extremely impressive though (even more so with all the suspended players we had).

We won a game we were supposed to win.

Everyone originally had us going 8-4 or 9-3, so we're not even a blip on their radar right now.

When there's a 0 on the right side of that W/L column come November, they'll begin to notice.

We know what we have and we know it's good.

Just win baby.

Not a problem at this stage. In fact with a young team, it's probably an advantage

FSU/UA played
UF/UM played
and UCLA had a massive comeback win.

What really needs to be talked about on satellite radio about an LSU team that beat an unranked BYU squad?

It was a lackluster non-conference oppenant tbh.

Well the media has over-hyped LSU the past 4ish years and probably have gotten bored with our past mediocrity. It is odd that LSU hasn't been discussed too much but the offense had a bland game plan and not much to show. There is all of the shifts, jet-sweeps, etc that are new to our program, but nothing too noteworthy. I expect us to get a lot more attention once we start playing more physical and competitive games. That's when our offense will start to open up, and therefore, generate more media discussion. Just my two cents.

Our defensive performance was mentioned multiple times on ESPN from what I saw, though.

we are no longer a top ten team.
Less newsworthy.
For now.

But your point remains. A LOT happened this week. Clay Travis ranks us second in the SEC this week and calls us "the best team nobody is talking about." And, I don't think they will talk about us much until October 7 or 14. We can't control that. Just win baby

Is the media buttering LSU's nuts going to change your thoughts on the game, coach O and QB play? Just curious to why it matters what someone else thinks.

I guess where I was coming from was the fact they WERE talking about LSU prior to the first game in a negative fashion. OL, Coach O, and QB were critical targets. They should change to positive after this dominant victory. Opponent never crosses midfield and held to -5 yards rushing!
Maybe we didn't play a top 10 team but BYU isn't a small time program either.
You're correct in that it won't matter till November but this opener will be looked back upon as something special.

We won't any attention until we beat Cowbell Tech and maybe not even until we open a can on the Gators in October

There were a lot of entertaining, competitive games this week. LSU/BYU was not one of them.

Clemson stomped a mudhole in their opponent and they're not getting talked about either. Stop taking it personally.

Yeah, I believe that if we are sandbagging, flex some muscle against the Bulldogs, and then put a home grown coonass asswhoopin on the Gators, and get the attention of the entire nation as we get closer to the showdown with Bama.

I believe

Horowitz and Kanell did a week one top five power ranking. And Horowitz put us as number 3 in the country behind only Clemson and Bama.

The idea of their segment was to create a top five based ONLY on week one performances.

Of course the SEC hating kanell didn't mention us but it was nice to hear Horowitz give us some recognition. He mentioned the new offense being better and was impressed with our defense after losing so much star power.

Kanell's counter point was that BYU has a terrible O and couldn't even blow Portland state out so our defensive performance wasn't as impressive as it looked on paper. Horowitz fired back by mentioning that PSU gave Oregon st a hell of a game in week 2 and notvto be surprised if they compete for the FCS title this year.

Both guys have a point, it'll be interesting to me to see how this year shakes out.
