If these guys are so good, why is AJ the backup?

I watched him abuse a very, very good Katy, Texas football squad multiple times. The kid is a talent, and a winner. That wasn't 1A Texas high school football, either.
I also like a lefty at qb...just "fits".

Les likes to stay with his boys. If AJ didn't get in trouble, he would have been under center this year.

It's always the next QB that's the best here at LSU.

full disclosure: i completely expected to see a white dude upon googling.
Why do you think he has no chance to start? After the whole JJ/Lee thing, I'm in full belief on this.

I don't think we've seen near enough of him to say 'yes', but it certainly is a possibility. Miles loves the kid, so maybe we'll see more of him next year. I hope, anyway...

This approach would seem to create circumstances where we are one injury, transfer, arrest or missed evaluation from starting all over at the position. I guess this is what's meant by the 4 year cycle.
The offense Miles runs will only allow the QB to be successful after some real game time experience and not a minute before. How the hell will we ever get decent QB play if we continue to go with the next true sophomore QB?

do we really want to head into a third consecutive year with yet another 1st-year starter?
I'd rather another first year starter than either of two QB's who have firmly established they are not very good. No idea if McMillian will be any good, but I know the other two aren't.

It might just be my opinion but I think Jennings, Harris, McMillian and Etling will all get a shot! Harris has digressed the back half of the year and I think we gave him his fair shot!

I left the spring game feeling pretty good about him. Maybe we can see play some next year

Harris should absolutely get a shot. I really hope I'm wrong and he improves and plays great. I just saw too many things this year that made me believe he just doesn't have what it takes.

No doubt Harris has the arm strength and is close on accuracy on the long ball. He's also got decent speed which should be utilized more.
I find it hard to believe he can go two years in the program with little to no touch on the ball though, and I don't see that turned in one offseason.

McMillan will have a redshirt right?
So he's going to be a RFrsh?

Couldn't agree more. Its hard to see him improving enough on the lack of touch and inaccuracy to be a top QB.

This is the real problem that Miles creates for himself with the passing game. He puts all his eggs in one basket.

There has NEVER been a 1st year starter at QB that has been successful at LSU, NEVER.

You only know that they haven't performed in the offense in which they've played. That doesn't mean they aren't any good. The problem is more with how they're being utilized than lack of talent/ability.
