I definitely hope he is able to hang on to the starting job League Champs, Matt Flynn deserves a shot to be a starter in the NFL and show what he can do in that role. This reminds me of when he was at LSU, he sat behind JaMarcus Russell for a couple of years, then finally got his chance, and well, you remember the rest!

I don't think they are going to name him starter, only to backtrack later. Its obviously no longer an open competition at this point

Yeah. I do. He lucked his arse into the national championship. He did everything he could to lose to Kentucky... and then he lost again to Arkansas. And then he was lucky that he had a capable back-up to win the SEC Championship for him.

JaMarcus Russell was the better QB with worse luck. I never thought Flynn had the talent to be consistent NFL starter. I think he has the work ethic and brains to be an incredible back-up for a long time.

Swagger, Flynn had over 200 yards passing and 3 touchdowns against Arkansas.

He didn't have a great game against Kentucky, but at least had a TD pass in that game. I thought he played very well his senior season, while battling the ankle injury.

We'll see what he can do for the Raiders.

He wasn't the only one

Yeah, like hit the TE with a game clinching TD only to have him drop it. And a defensive end go all bizarro at the end of the game and Miles not play Scott more.

Scored enough points to win, but the defense laid a brick and let Arky score on a fourth and 10 in OT.

Would have been an easier win if Flynn played, but the separated shoulder thing he suffered vs. Arky didn't help.

More talented QB that shite the bed in their two losses. Completely shite the bed because he is stupid.

If Keith Zinger could have held onto that TD, it wouldn't have been an issue.

Why is this news? That's why the Raiders brought him to Oaktown, y'all didn't really think T. Pryor was gonna be penciled in as the starter, did y'all? This is Matt's job to lose.

I'm happy for the guy, he sat behind Rodgers for so long and for a time was the most coveted back up QB in the league, only due to the fact he was stater worthy. Seattle picks him up with a decent contract but picks Wilson in the draft, not only picks him, but starts him, leaving Flynn only to wonder when he'll finally get his shot, not to mention the embarrassment he must have felt for getting beat out by a rookie. Hopefully the same situation doesn't happen with Tyler Wilson, but I can hardly see him doing what the previously mentioned Wilson did. If it weren't for the Seahawks drafting some LSU players I'd pretty much hate them for what they did to my boy Flynn.
