A kid/former Tiger made a pretty terrible life decision. You are a dick to find humor in that.
It was a long snapper. That's pretty damn funny. You have to admit.

Re-watched the 2000 Peach Bowl today and asked this question. One more year under Saban and alongside James, Faulk could have done so much more.
Damian James went and got himself "processed" so different tune.

Unless Canada is some WR guru that would drastically change how Dupre catches and runs routes, whatever elevated numbers he would put up next year wouldn't make him a better candidate to be drafted

Dude is screwed. One more year would have did wonders specially with Canada
I agree, the one more year would have been the right move for Dupre. He could have been a 2nd rounder at least next year.
As for him being "screwed" thats not true, I like his chances with the Packers. That's a great place to land, plus a All-Pro QB making him look even better.

7th rounders are far from being immune to getting cut. Had he come back and proven himself he could have been a second day pick and been basically guaranteed a roster spot.

Numbers aren't all that important.
Keith Jackson caught 65 passes in four years at Oklahoma and was the 13th overall pick in 1988.

Keith Jackson was a TE in a WISHBONE offense, not exactly a good comparison to Dupre.

How so? NFL draft is all about your ability and how it projects to the league, not about what numbers you put up in college. It's about potential, but what you've been able to do and your production against competition counts for a lot also. Partially how they decide where you project in the NFL. A lot fast guys and great athletes don't make in the NFL. Another year with a different offense l, respectable play calling, and adequate QB, could have made a big difference for Chi. With a good year of production, He could have at worst been drafted in 3-4 round instead of late 7th.

Well, Malachi is famous now. His story is going to be used for years to warn juniors about the perils of leaving too early before you are ready. His story will end up being good for LSU but not so good for Malachi. Hopefully, he can recover and have a fruitful career.

At least he's with a good team and a good QB.

Those that keep saying at least Malachi will now have a Great quarterback throwing his way, well let this sink in: James Wright, former LSU WR, had a total of 18 receptions his whole career at LSU. ZERO his senior year.
Malachi had nearly 100 receptions in his career at LSU and yet James Wright was taken earlier in the 7th round than Malachi. With that being said, I'm pulling for Malachi to make it in the League. I just don't see it being with Green Bay. I think he will be a practice squad body this year.

I'll disagree....
Several players haven't had numbers and they've gone and been selected higher than expected. He has a chance to make a decent amount of money next year and at the end of the day it is about doing what is best for you and your family than a fan base that doesn't appreciate you.

I can list several players that this board thought was dumb leaving who were drafted earlier than expected as well. His "story" is nothing new.

tduecen-You missed the whole point here. I have no problem with someone pursuing their dreams. And I know that numbers are NOT the end all, be all. Malachi has ALOT of work to do before he even sniffs the playing field at Green Bay. Because as of right now, I don't see ONE receiver spot on that roster that he will surpass anyone at.

Who gives a shite anymore?
MD obviously doesn't. The kid made a decision and went with it. He didn't get drafted as high as he wanted and had a bad 40 time when he tested.
He's going to a great organization with arguably the best QB in the NFL to learn from.
There are some great opportunities for this kid in the future. If he produces; his money can come on the back end. I'm sure that thought/ belief occurred to him, as well; throughout this process.
I wish MD nothing but continued success as he transitions to the professional aspect of his career. My belief is he will represent LSU extremely well.

Point is this has absolutely nothing to due with representing LSU damn well. Like I said, I'm pulling for him either way. When a fricking receiver from GRAMBLING is drafted AHEAD of you, you have more issues than you are willing to admit. Malachi does have upside.
Again, maybe this is his wakeup call.

All we can do is let the man live his life. Whether it be a wake-up call, lesson, or a regret; the guy made his decision whether we like it or agree with the outcome.
He couldn't have asked for a better situation; and besides the obvious with A-A Ron Rodgers, GB has been able to get a lot of production out of their young WRs with many of them becoming breakouts early in their careers.
It's not as if he was drafted so low for lack of physical gifts. We'll see if he makes the team this fall. Then, we can if his decision was a bad one or not. Just let it play out before you say it was dumb. Because as much as you think you know what would happen in a Canada offense next year; you really don't know. Let it play out before you judge the kid on his decision.

I didn't miss any point, to assume him coming g back would make his position better. Had he come back and tore his ACL would he picked better?
You can play both sides of the fence, GB is a nice landing spot for a young receiver. They've drafted a lot in that position and their willing to give all a fair shake. Nelson and Adams are the only two who are given a position
