Make O the interim coach with a chance to remove the "tag"

Play the long game. If O takes over and the team plods along then nothing changes: Jimbo, Herman, Piece of shite Petrino - whoever. However, if O can rally the troops and win big - he has to beat 3/4- Bama, Ole Miss, Arkansas, A&M - make him the HC. He will have proven himself as a head coach at both LSU & USC in tough situations.
If he continues to win great - if not it really doesn't matter. He's a great recruiter who will load up the roster for his replacement.
