PM is coasting to retirement.

Our AD gave him a huge extension so all PM has to do is sit back, win enough games to get a National seed every now and then, and he has nothing to worry about. Omaha is just icing on a cake. He doesn't even have to win there to make his seat warm. It's going on 10 years since LSU was a serious threat in Omaha.

And the people wanting to get rid of Dunn better be careful what you wish for because PM will move Cain over to pitching coach, and promote Gibbs to a full time assistant role. Why? Because he can and no one is gonna do shite to him.

PM is going to retire at LSU as the head baseball coach.

It may be in a couple of years but he is not getting let go.

PM is not getting fired. He does need to stop being loyal to former players. Get the best guys in to do the job not your friends.

I heard the same thing about Miles, also hearing from many baseball season ticket holders, the natives are getting restless.

I completely agree with this. Bottom line, I'd be very surprised if we see anyone dominate college baseball again the way that Rod Dedeaux did at USC or that Skip did at LSU. Too many folks have realized that college baseball can at least grab a fair amount of interest and revenue, if you do it right.

I don't see any way of this happening but I would pay good money to see TCU's Jim Schossnagle come to Baton Rouge. He's still young (46) and has done everything at TCU but win a NC. Bring him to Baton Rouge and I think that he could change that quickly.

In the past 5 years LSU has two CWS appearances and two super regional appearances all with national seeds. Comparing football to baseball is like apples to oranges. Different competitive landscape and different factors come into play.

There was a time I would agree with you, that they are not the same, but it's starting to get all too familiar. Getting sick of watching LSU baseball embarrass itself the same I was getting sick of watching LSU football embarrass itself, you simply don't lose this way when you're considered a top tier program.

Not saying he is not, just pointing why that part was a bad comparison.

Is it that bad? What % of national seeds make omaha? Like 45-50? Sounds average

LSU got blown out twice this weekend on the road to a team that is good, its not like we get embarrassed every weekend. This team feels a lot worse than they are. At times we have 4 freshmen in the lineup so there are going to be growing pains but that still doesnt explain the top half of the line up being terrible at times.

The one constant for the past three years has been a very very shallow bullpen.

anxious to see how all the new coaches do. Wade will di somewhat better, Orgeron about the same. The "fire the coach" crowd always overrates our talent and underrates our opposition. During the gymnastics final a couple of posters talked about DD needing to go.

I'm anxious too, also expected LSU's defense to be extremely dominant, and they were. Orgeron allowed his coaching staff to put plenty of pressure on LSU's QB's, there was no taking it easy. Canada now knows there's a lot of work to get done, I place more trust in him doing so than Cameron.

An over-used and clumsy argument.

So a guy dedicates 30+ years of his life and career as a collegiate baseball coach and all of a sudden as he gets closer to retirement, he decides to just "coast".

I won't say it doesn't happen, but generally people have much more pride than that. If anything, coaches have a tendency to stay too long not wanting to retire.

LSU isn't top 5 in recruiting and hasn't even really been close the last few years. Do some research OP

Sort of like Miles and LSU's QB problem, not enough people who can sling it. Not getting any good vibes from LSU baseball, don't see LSU repeating their come back of last year. Tell me who they can depend on among this pitching staff, no one!

Mainieri under-performing just like Miles, the top facilities in the nation just like football, yet he can't deliver.
