Stevenson back to center and Laird back to right. He explains himself pretty well in the video.

its been a little bit of an issue but putting Stevenson in for foster isn't going to improve anything.

the bats need to come alive

its sounding that way. i'm assuming rhymes would be staying at LF, but he didn't mention it. so it would be mclovin and foster battling for the dh spot and im pretty sure mclovin would get it. tyler moore just cant catch a break

Stevenson & Laird clearly field better.

McMullen & Foster clearly hit better.

It's a dilemma. Normally I would say just go with the better hitters, but lately I've seen that it really does make a huge defensive difference out there, so, whaddya gonna do?

My inclination would probably be to platoon Stevenson & Laird in CF, play McMullen in RF, and put Foster at DH, but at this point it looks like a fluid situation. Stevenson or Laird might be able to hit his way into the lineup, and if Foster goes into a slump, he might be able to hit his way out of the lineup.

It certainly looks like Moore's time at DH will get cut down some, given that he has to compete against 2 guys now (McMullen & Foster) who have pretty hot bats.

he must have recorded that video before I called him yesterday with HCB's "keys to winning the championship" lineup

Honestly, I think our best bet is Laird in center, McMullen in right, Foster DH...

or Rhymes DH, but we know how that goes.

Although Stevenson is an elite outfielder, he cannot hit his way out of a paper bag. His ABs are awful.

The only problem with is that you would have a couple games where Laird is in CF and McMullen is in RF, which is exactly what it sounds like Mainieri is trying to avoid.

Yeah, 2-for-30 in SEC games just isn't cutting it, but maybe he should get one more opportunity to up his hitting prowess before the playoffs roll around.

is laird/Stevenson really that much better than laird/foster or laird/McMullen? I think the extra hitting you get with McMullen and foster both in there outweighs Stevenson's fielding

.....watch Stevenson have a couple of web gems this weekend
