I think our biggest trap game is Oct. 29th against nobody. There are many tough games on LSU's schedule, but the recent past seems to point to "OFF aka Nobody" is the trap game for LSU. It could also be that the following week has been against Alabama, but I'd like to think it's a coincidence that we tend to play them the week after "Nobody" beats us to death...

Edit and add the following:

Ok, I just want to clarify something. I'm an LSU guy 100%. I was only making an honest statement after I saw an article about trap games. I think all of us Tiger fans know that if we would have gotten the lucky break in the Alabama game in a few of the last several meetings, the script would be a little bit different. The recent Alabama memories, even though they are painful, must stay with us, to keep us hungry.

With the predictability of what our offense has been and the uncertainty of what it may be, coupled with a new defensive scheme, every game will be a trap game.

You average three posts a year. It's sad that this was one of them. It makes me not want to wait around until October to see what you post next.

Same 3 from last year O'Piss, Bama, & Ark. 9&3 with a little luck.

The bye week before bama is a good thing. It gives us an extra week to heal and prepare.

It's hard to argue it's not the Arkansas game every year.

Arkansas. It's always Arkansas. We either get a draining, crushing loss from Bama or (hypothetically) come out flat after the high off beating Bama. I hate the Arkansas game being after Alabama for this reason.

We always play lifeless after the Alabama game. Arkansas always plays us tough. Bad combo.

Ever since that game has become a regular on the schedule, I have never understood why the fans and the team don't get more fired up for them. It's always close and even if Arkansas is playing badly all season long they seem to give us a good game like 2007 when on paper the Tigers should have blown them out.

Their fans and in particular, the team, at Arkansas gets really ramped up to play LSU

By now we should know not to take them lightly after the bama game. Last year, there was a bunch of talk about not having a let down game against them and we still had one.

Run the trap with Fournette and we should be fine.

you're missing the point.

Arkansas, since they follow Bama, is always a trap game. It's just emotionally impossible to get sky-high for two consecutive weeks, especially since our entire year is focused on Bama. No matter if we beat Bama or lose, we'll be emotionally spent and will have trouble getting back up for Arky the next week, even though we know they're good and play us tough. It's just human nature.

Another trap game this year is So. Miss. We play them after 3 weeks of SEC games (at Auburn, Missouri, at Florida). We'll expend emotional energy there, and will probably want to take an emotional breather against So. Miss. And they're not bad. I expect us to win, but we'll be sloppy and lethargic.

LSU doesn't have a bye week advantage, as Bama also has a bye week.

I can't remember the last time LSU had a bye week advantage against an SEC opponent. It would be nice if LSU ever had such a scheduling benefit.

LSU has lost 5 in a row with time off. It gets to them, it's in the coaches and players head.
