Pretty much one of the reasons I started loving LSU as a kid, when they actually had a home and away jersey like every other school. Before that retarded bring back the magic tour that everyone fell for...

We look like s SWAC school with the yellow pants and purple jerseys. Okay every once in a while but I'm not a huge fan.

There is no pageantry and proud tradition with the purple jerseys. They're a symbol of futility

We wore purple in the Earthquake Game. And won 2 SEC titles wearing purple at home. I prefer the whites, but things didn't always suck in the purples.

Would love to see a white helmet/pants combo with the purple jerseys. Gold helmet/pants with the purple jersey is just too much color together

quote: they're a symbol of futility and failure....... I did a little research into the Tiger record wearing purple, and discovered that dating back to a 2000 Peach Bowl win over Georgia Tech, LSU football has won 33 consecutive games in the purple jerseys. Granted, in most of those games the Tigers were heavily favored, but still, that's a record of futility and failure I can live with.

In the 12 years where the NCAA mandated that home teams wear dark jerseys for home games ('83-'94), LSU had 5 winning seasons, which included some of the WORST seasons in our history. Dinardo brought back the magic with "traditional white jerseys at home" just like "the good old days when LSU was winning". It kinda stuck (despite '98 and '99) and all seems right with it. I don't mind the purple jerseys, but twice a year at the most. Even as a kid ('80's), I personally would get sick of the purple. My dad and I would say "they're away this week, but they'll be wearing white". White jerseys are just superior. From '84-'88, LSU lost a total of 3 road (white jersey) regular season games, while losing 5 home (purple jersey) games. Plus, the only bowl victory during that stretch was in white jerseys.

I thought it was my TV at first because it looked like the Jaguars were out there instead of the tigers.

I messed with the tint and color settings and no matter what I did they still looked blue.

ETA: I think it's the lights like someone said. In the OP pic the top left fournette pic is obviously purple. That was taken with the sun still out. The majority of the pics look blue.

I'm just taking a guess that your joking, every time they wear the purple jerseys they not only play like shite but look like it. Burn 'em and move on with the white. Looks the best and for whatever reason they play like it.

les miles has never lost a game in purple.

Not a fan of our purples. Now the traditional whites, I don't think there's any better.

I agree the purple jerseys are the best in football and unique to lsu. I wish we'd start wearing them all the time at home.

If you showed a college football fan both jerseys I'd bet more often than not they'd recognize the purples over the white as lsu.

It makes us stand out more and looka badass on tv

It is a well known fact that LSU looks & plays better in white.
