LOL.... I played this game in 2007... But what happens if LSU WINS OUT? And all the other cards fall and all west teams are 2 loss teams.
It's not that far of a reach... Besides LSU winning out. lol.
We beat Bama. They have 2 losses.
Miss St. loses to Bama and Ole Miss.
Auburn lost to Miss St. and could lose against Georgia or Bama.
Ole Miss lose to LSU and Auburn.
Am I correct that if all is tied with losses in the West, that the Highest ranked team goes to the SEC Championship?
Lol..... That would be almost as funny as 2007 if the cards fell perfectly for LSU.

I like the optimism, but those were ugly games against MSU and AU.

As far fetched as the post is, I would actually appreciate an honest answer. What would our chances be of going to Atlanta and/or making the playoffs if we won out in this scenario?
Our two toughest games are at home, we have a bye before Bama and a bye before TAM.

No.
Three-Team Tie (or more)
If three teams (or more) are tied for a division title, the following procedure will be used in the following order: (Note: If one of the procedures results in one team being eliminated and two remaining, the two-team tiebreaker procedure as stated in No. 1 above will be used):
A. Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams
B. Record of the tied teams within the division
C. Head-to-head competition against the team within the division with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non-divisional) and proceeding through the division (multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last and a tie for first place will be broken before a tie for fourth place)
D. Overall Conference record against non-divisional teams
E. Combined record against all common non-divisional teams
F. Record against the common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference record (divisional and non-divisional) and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division; and
G. Changed: Combined SEC record of the team’s cross-divisional opponents

There's been many threads like this from some of the most optimistic fans. If that's the scenario, LSU will be ranked higher than any team considering the timing of the wins (and loses) and we would have shown tremendous improvement if we don't lose again.
There's always a chance! Who thought we'd lose to Kentucky and Arkansas of all teams and still win a national championship the same year.
Everything starts with a win against Ole Miss.

Okay so we have no realistic shot at SECW or SEC title, but if we did win out I wonder if we'd have any prayer at the playoff.

I like the optimism. hopefully the game saturday was the team turning a corner and growing up.
the qb has to get better though

It's very unlikely, but like I said we seem to be gaining momentum, Ole Miss seems "due" for a poor performance and we get them at home. We are "due" to get some lucky breaks v's Bama and we get them at home.
I flat out think we're better than both Arky and TAM.

That was one game. We have two.

We have mathematically shot, but not a realistic shot.

That's left to the football Gods. Something like Pittsburgh beating WVU. I wouldn't worry about scenarios like that. Ranked high at the end of the season will definitely play a role with the committee.

In other words, if all 5 teams are 2-2 against each other, it goes to whoever played the toughest East opponents.

"But LSU was undefeated in regulation", says Les Miles.

LSU wins out, finishes 6-2.
Ole Miss loses to LSU and Auburn, finishes 6-2.
Mississippi State loses to Kentucky, Alabama, and Ole Miss; finishes 5-3.
Alabama loses to LSU and Auburn, finishes 5-3.
Auburn loses to A&M and Georgia, finishes 5-3.

If we win out, this would be a successful season regardless of if we have a chance at the conference title.
Posted on 10/20/14 at 2:10 pm to GhostStoryTiger
If all that did happened and for some reason Ole Miss didn't go to the SEC Championship game, would Ole Miss still fly a "SEC 2014 Western Division Co-Champion" banner in Rebel Stadium... Go to Hell Ole Miss.

Not sure where you're getting this from. If we all are 2-2 against each other it goes to record within the division.
