Extreme excitement, extreme anger, and extreme relief, that summed up the Miss State game for me. Harris was in a groove passing and making no mistakes, so why stop? Did everyone see the confidence Harris was gaining passing, so why stop? The Bulldog defense couldn't figure out LSU's offense, so why stop? LSU was on the verge of thrashing Miss St because it was passing, it was running, it was keeping Miss St off balance and keeping LSU's thin but talented defensive line rested, so why stop? It appeared throttling Miss St had so many pluses, so why stop?

The penalties hurt LSU, but so did becoming one dimensional. Harris was doing everything right, so it seemed the perfect time to let Harris continue to excel and grow. But Coach Miles couldn't overcome his fear of relying on a passing QB last night, it seems the time is near for him to do so. I have a damn strong love hate relationship with Coach Miles. And a damn strong understanding of where LSU is now. If coach Miles overcomes his fear of passing, LSU wins the NT. Its that clear.

I like it, all of it. I'm no coach but was puzzled as to why we put the cuffs on B Harris. Seems that he's still getting picked apart by our fans but for me, it was a stellar performance. Throws were on point and states D had no fricking clue what to do with us. From the little that we got to see last night, as a fan I feel like B Harris has just changed the game at LSU. Boys...... I think we finally have a QB!

It is just his freaking conservative mentality. If he thinks the running game is so strong and believes in LF why didn't he go for it on 4th down and end the game? Just look at Mullen, he tries everything with less talent. If we had the same play calling as MSU it would have been a blowout.

we threw the ball, we were moving it until the penalty and then the bs no catch. We run a play the refs blow the whistle to review it and say its a no catch. Say what you want, the refs did a good job at screwing with the flow of the game, and it started early in the 2nd quarter.

It seems as if miles is going to insure that we are not going to turn the ball over, even if that means lining up in a two tight end, one receiver formation for the whole 2nd half and running toss dives. If the other team comes back and wins at the last second, so be it, at least they didn't win off of one of our turnovers.

Miles comes from the schembechler school.. which adheres to the mentality that only three things can happen when you pass and two of them are bad. from Old Woody Hayes. Ohio State

Stuck in the past....and refuses to change.

The problem is that even IF WE WIN, we do not make a splash. When the computer picked the finalists it was not as critical, but now with 13 committee members talking among each other, IT DOES.

He won't change his philosophy. He worked under Bo Schembechler so he follows his old boss' strategy to a T. Sit on a lead, chew on clock, and keep running til the game is over, either win or lose. I can see he would lose at least 2 games with his offensive philosophy.

what's this? a well constructed, well-thought out post devoid of hyperbole featuring solid analysis and insight?

Harris was playing great, I was puzzled too. My main complaints are with Miles play calling later on, with the refs, and the player penalties. Without the penalties, LSU stomps State, that much we can all agree.

Without the penalties we wouldn't even be having this conversation. We need to chill out some

Miles didn't appear chilled out after the game in the press room. He seemed relieved but angry. Like most fans. LSU should beat Auburn next week, which I never thought I'd be saying, but LSU still needs to be less one dimensional, it will cost them somewhere along way if they are not.

goes back to 05 in Miles first year, LSU builds a 21 point lead on Tennessee and then Miles goes Vanilla and shuts the offense down and the Vols came back and won the game. Nothings changed, 21 points and Miles shuts the offense down. Chavis was watching with a smile on his face SAYING Kevin STEEL ol buddy, now you know what I went through and if LSU would have lost in the END though ur defense was leg dead tired, the lost would have been your Fault

True but with one caveat, LSU now has coach Cam, he is the one person I am counting on to help erase Les Miles' fear of passing. Cam's done a great job with coaching Harris just as he did with Mett and he's close to our head coach, so I will remain hopeful.

we were throwing it late in the 4th. Harris made some bad throws. he also scrambled and made good runs, but those were still called pass plays. LF also had runs of 9 and 17 yards. Williams has a 27 yd run called back for phantom holding.

Dak goes 6/6 for 82 yds to make it 19-21. what else should we have done now with 2 minutes left? run the clock out. it worked.

Admins will surely act quickly to ensure this doesn't become a trend. An example will be made of the OP.

Refs with bullshite "timely" penalties that changed flow and momentum of the game. Also extremely poor "spots" for first downs that were not. The hands to the facemask was total bullshite. Almost every-time LSU had a good play, a large gain a yellow flag on the ground.

Thanks, I did fail to mention that Miles had LSU ready to play in basically their first game and in a very loud and hostile environment. Lots to love and hate about this game.
