to Arky and there is a 3-way tie with Bama & Arky according to my understanding of the Wikipedia rules copied below.

Per #8, Arky would be in the BCS top 5 and we would be left out and Bama will go? Everyone read it the same way?

1.Three or more-team procedure1.(Once the tie has been reduced to two teams, go to the two-team tie-breaker format.)
2.Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams.
3.Record of the tied teams within the division.
4.Records against the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
5.Complete record vs. non-division teams.
6.Complete record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
7.Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
8.The tied team with the highest ranking in the Bowl Championship Series Standings following the last weekend of regular-season games shall be the divisional representative in the SEC Championship Game, unless the second of the tied teams is ranked within five-or-fewer places of the highest ranked tied team. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the SEC Championship Game.

This is kinda scary but will be a great game...

Voters would put us ahead of Bama if it was a close game, therefore, we go. They don't respect Arky. Hell, Arky dropped 1 spot after beating a top 10 team.

LSU would play in Atlanta if both LSU and Alabama remain ranked higher than Arky.....If it's a close loss to Arkansas LSU would still have a good shot IMO.

we have to beat arkansas. that simple. if we do, everything will be fine. if we lose, it will not be fine. we'll end up 11-1 with a good bowl, probably non bcs bowl. it will still be a hell of a season, but most fans will commit hari-kari.

If LSU loses to Arkansas, LSU and Bama would need to be ranked above Arkansas in the BCS for LSU to go to the SEC Championship.

And that won't happen.

So simple solution, lose to Arkansas.

LSU is guaranteed the SECCG with a win or with a close loss to Ark.

Ark, with a close victory over LSU will not jump LSU or Bama. Bama and LSU will be within the five spot rule, giving LSU the entrance to the SECCG with heads-up win against Bama.

Wrong,
The three way tie gets broken by top 2 in BCS standings, then those two go to the TWO WAY tie breakers. That would be head to head since the conference and overall records are the same.

So if ark beats LSU and gets a bcs ranking above us and bama they dont go?
Is that what you are saying?

Arkansas is ranked 5 right now. With a W over LSU they don't move above bama or lsu?

That's possible I guess. But highly unlikely given the current rankings...

Arky won't pass Bama no matter what. The question is do they pass LSU. 'Bama only dropped 2 spots following thier loss. If LSU drops two spots we're golden. Remember LSU will still have the best computer score and that counts for 1/3.
