“What it tells me is how close we were,” an animated Miles said, his voice rising and falling. “I sit there and look at that and I go ‘Can you imagine that? Look at how close we were.’ That’s how I see it. Certainly, the want to play in that (BCS Championship) game and the enjoyment to pursue that want was very evident.

“I liked our chances ahead in the fourth quarter with a healthy tailback and a healthy quarterback at the end of that game against the national champion.”

Good to see the man is aware of our shortcomings and doesn't have an unrealistic view of his program.

Well, he is putting a positve spin on things

The fans need to understand that LSU is just as talented as anyone..

We just need to improve on the OL! and DL and some QB play...

You wonder how this guy can convince top recruits to come to LSU. Miles must be a super-nice guy. lol

They were close.

10 point loss to UF.

4th Q lead vs. Bama.

Choke against UM.

What do you expect him to say? You do know that he's right, don't you? OTOH, he was also that close to being 6-6.

What a joke. Embarrassing.

To me it looked like they had the want to do just enough to barely get by. Especially the lines. I hope Les cuts this want crap out next year and our players start executing and physically dominating instead of having the want to execute and physically dominate. That team may have had the want to execute too bad that want didn't always translate into reality. And that falls on the coaches.

Georgia.... close. Thank God Charles Scott scored and the refs called a celebration penalty on Georgia after they scored late.

Miss. State.... close. Glad their coach didn't give the ball to their all SEC running back inside the one foot line to score and also glad that Miss. State has a bad q.b. All he had to do was stretch the ball over the goal line.

Arkansas....close. Can you imagine losing 3 years in a row to these fools? That would have our fans even more miserable.

Think about it. If we lose these three games it is very possible that LSU would have had a 6-7 season. I know, I know. If's don't count. I'm just saying that Miles is not the answer. He is out of touch with what is going on. How can a coach say that "this is the best offensive line I've had since I've been at LSU" before the start of the last 2 seasons?

What is more bothersome than the people that believe it, is that Miles said it. Anyone watching those games saw Bama, UF and Ole Miss totally control those games. LSU's saving grace was luck and a good scoring defense.

Respectfully, LSU is closer to a 8-5 team than 11-2
