Peyton or Eli going to LSU would be the equivelant of Billy Cannon's kid going to Texas A&M. A slap in the old man's face.

edit: or at least a slap in tha face of their dads' fans.

were they playing 16 reg. season games back then?

Actually, yes. The 16 game schedule began in 1978.

Nah. Cannon, Jr. was a mid-level type recruit, at best, and A&M was hardly our big historic rival.

The big difference here was I believe this was during the time that Billy, Sr was going through his legal troubles so I really can't blame Billy Junior for going to A&M.

pssst they were easy to beat. It was Jennerett that was tough.

As a band member, how did you know Jennerett was tough? I mean, if the other team is tough, do blow less on your bugle? How did you, as the bugle player in your high school band, determine whether a team was tough or not?

I see you still like to toot your horn.

Why don't you post the score the year before when Ole Miss probably cost us a NC and LSU was snubbed by the major bowls? I was a sophomore at LSU and was at that game in Jackson, when Archie and Ole Miss beat LSU. I'm 62 and still pissed off that LSU lost that game.
