Mannings are a great story but as an LSU fan, its clear the family isn't fond of our University.

They had no ties to LSU. They had no reason to be fond to it. They had ties to one of LSU's main rival. Just b/c he played for the Saints doesn't mean he becomes an adopted LSU fan. And the only games his sons ever went to were Ole Miss games.

Bro, what you got against the Mannings

1. I am a big LSU fan;
2. I live Uptown and buy probably 10-12 LSU flags every football season because they disappear around here. Nothing personal but there is a small but powerful group here that don't like LSU, especially their fans.

When your kid is born and raised in New Orleans, there's natural ties to LSU, Peyton chose Tennesee (no ties) over everything. I'm not saying they are wrong for anything or decisions made, but as an LSU fan they don't think highly of the university i love most.

This is all true (I'm assuming the flag stealing are, I know about the LSU disdain amongst a large segment of uptown). I'm not sure how much the Mannings alone contribute to it, however.

Excellent point and they seem like very decent family people, however that is the group they identify with here.

Dude, he was being recruited by Curley Hallman. He would have been an idiot to sign with us. As it was, Josh Booty did sign with us that year and was smart enough to run away to baseball for a while. Jamie Howard should have been so smart.

The Mannings hate LSU. If payton would have gone to LSU, we would have won the National Championship, and Payton would have won the Heisman. If Ely would have gone to LSU, maybe he would have won the Heisman also.

Also, little payton wouldn not shake hands with Mr. Brees after Brees won the Super Bowl.

Do you remember the defenses we had when Eli was at OM? Man if he had come to LSU we could have won two titles maybe.

We're similarly undefeated (in football at least) against Herschel Walker and Bo Jackson.

National Championship? Curley Hallman could have had the current Peyton Manning, along with his current receiving corps, and he still would not have won squat.
